1969 Chevrolet Camaro

The 1969 Camaro Z/28 is, for many car enthusiasts, the classic Camaro to covet. Combining that handsome, one-year-only styling with the feisty, high-winding 302 cubic-inch V8 (that was exclusive to the Z/28) was a marriage made in car guy heaven.



Bred to participate in American sports car racing where it enjoyed great success, the Z/28 also came equipped with quicker steering and firmer suspension calibrations and was only available with a four-speed stick.



The beautiful example you see here has been certified and documented by Camaro guru Jerry MacNeish. It proudly wears its correct and very rare Burnished Brown paint accented with White Z/28 stripes. That very high-quality respray is likely better than the factory finish. The cars original body panels as well as the underside are rock solid. Those panels are arrow straight with uniform gaps and the underside is impressively clean, while the various chrome and stainless trim are likewise in excellent condition.



A set of 15-inch Rally wheels fitted with Hancook radials complete the considerable curb appeal. The car also comes with a set of correct Goodyear Wide Tread bias-ply tires. Note that the trunk floor center has minor surface rust, but the trunk can be professionally refinished at extra cost if the buyer wishes so as to match the rest of the cars high-level overall condition.



Swing open the door and youll think you stepped into the 1969 Camaro brochure, as the interior looks factory fresh and features some key options, including the Rosewood sport steering wheel, full rally gauges and center console. Theres also the correct Hurst 4-speed shifter while the trunk has the jack assembly and spare tire.



Under the proud hood and ready to provide plenty of thrills is the iconic DZ 302. Note that it has a CE 4350 stamped replacement short block under warranty. That mill features the incredible "Cross Ram" dual-quad induction system that is not original to this car but was a dealer-added option. The Z also comes with its original date code-correct 4053DZ Holley carb, Winters aluminum intake, original cowl induction air cleaner element and rubber hood seal.



A set of headers along with the factory-correct chambered exhaust contribute to the Z/28s awesome soundtrack. That 302 powerhouse starts, idles and runs great, while the matching-numbers Muncie M21 4-speed shifts smoothly and sends the power to the original, 12-bolt, 3.73-geared Positraction rear end. The power front disc brakes and the quick-ratio power steering add to the thrill of wheeling around this classic high-performance Camaro.
