Classic Car Overview
1969 Chevrolet Camaro Hardtop This restored and jam packed with power upgrades 1969 Camaro slightly custom version is as beautiful as it is powerful. A shining example of taking an amalgamation of performance parts and stuffing them into straight steel that is nicely painted and nearly all rust free. Traction bars, Cragar wheels and a rear facing big scoop hood all added to a big sum of total muscle! Exterior The recipient of a painstaking restoration with straight sheetmetal and good panel alignment, this was then finished in a cant miss it coating of Hugger Orange base coat, then clear coated. Prior to the clear coating though, wide black dual racing stripes were painted on. We note a few bubbles in the paint on the lower body panels along with inclusions in the finish throughout. All markers and lighting, locks, chrome bumpers and brite work look nearly new and shiny brightly. A low profile rear facing scooped hood was added to give some extra breathing room to the 327ci encased within the engine bay. A touch of custom bodywork was done on the rear quarter panel lips, as they have grafted in fiberglass flares to allow proper clearance for the wide rear meats. On the back a small rear spoiler attached to the trunk lid and just below is a pristine bumper framing the horizontal tail lights. 14 and 15-inch front and rear Cragar chrome 5 spokes are on all 4 corners. Interior Picking up nicely from the exterior black stripes, we see a sea of black nice condition vinyl. This is covering the door panels, which are nearly showroom and the buckets which are high back versions with large headrests attached that have recently been recovered. In the back is a black 2 plus 2 rear bench just as nice as the front buckets. In the center is the carpeted hump complete with a T-handle equipped Hurst shifter. The dash is original and has the factory steering wheel in front. On the left of the column is an aftermarket tachometer and this fronts the deeply inset cluster of new factory style gauges. We note an aftermarket radio AM/FM/Cassette stereo is now installed just below the chrome heater slides. Black carpeting in like condition is on the floors and above is a tight black vinyl headliner with a working dome light. We are ready to roll! Drivetrain Under the scooped hood is now a 327ci V8 that sports a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor to feed the hungry mill copious amounts of air and fossils. A Saginaw 4-speed manual transmission is installed and sends power to a 12-bolt posi rear sporting 4.11 gears. All this is kept in perfect tune thanks to recent spark plugs, wires and a fresh oil change......OOOOH YEAH! Undercarriage Plenty of attention has been paid to the undercarriage with straight rust free steel, floor pans that are like new, (because they are), and rust free rockers. The bottom end of the engine shows a few drips on the chrome oil pan, but nothing to fret over. Surface rusted headers run to a Flowmaster exhaust that makes its way to the back of the machine. Independent coil springs are on front and on back are leaf springs with traction bars, again just black paint and no rust. Manual drum brakes are on all 4 corners for the whoah factor and all is looking great under here! Drive-Ability This car fired up with a mighty roar, and performed much like the roar at the start. Out on the test track it had wonderful launching from the Saginaws first gear, and unlimited acceleration. Braking was solid and handling was on point for a car of this era. All functions save for the fuel gauge were working at the time of our drive. All buttoned up mechanically and on the exterior front. A custom homologation of various Camaro looks from the 1969 model year and let me tell you, this car definitely looks and performs the part of all of them! Beautiful color combos, all ready to roll in style and even add a bit of excitement to your right foot. 124379N651169 1-Chevrolet 24-Camaro V8 37-2 Door Hardtop Sport Coupe 9-1969 N-Norwood, OH Assy Plant 651169-Sequential Unit Number TRIM TAG ST 69 12437-1969 Camaro 2 Door Hardtop Sport Coupe BDY NOR340237-Norwood Body # TR 711-Black Standard Vinyl Buckets PNT 67 67-Burgundy 05E-5th Week May X44-Base Car Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 850 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles.
