History of the Z28's First 25 Years

Z28 is the most famous Chevrolet RPO code ever. No other option code has become so synonymous with high performance. Other option codes have been used for well-known packages such as Z22 and Z27, but the option names/descriptions became famous, not the RPO number.

Classic Car Overview

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Restomod is an awesome full custom build that also likes to celebrate some of the best F-body cars around. Its also upgraded with the best features, like a fuel-injected LS1 V8, overdrive transmission, upgraded suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, and a loaded custom leather interior. It all makes for a head-turning coupe built to really be enjoyed. The 69 Camaro is an absolute icon, and so its great to see it done right. The red paint has the vibrant look of a quality application, and the high-gloss finish shows off the straight body lines. The best vintage pieces you love are in place, including shining chrome bumpers and a hidden-headlight RS front end (light doors will need servicing.) Theres a ton of custom details that really make the difference, too. The badging has been deleted for a smoother look, theres a modified cowl, and the 17-inch alloys add to both the stance and shine. The special racing stripes pay tribute to the Z/28, and they show off many of the cool details of this restomod. They are painted on the trunk and the 69 Trans Am rear spoiler. The streaks in front custom form around the hood scoop. You may have noticed that this piece looks a lot like what came on the 4th gen Camaro SS, and thats for a very good reason...but more on that in a moment. Even more distinction awaits you inside. The seats carry the exteriors red and white theme, and its done in supple leather that basically looks like no one has ever sat in them. And when you do get into the drivers seat, be prepared for a shock. This is clearly a Camaro dash, but one borrowed from a much younger 4th gen car. That means you get more amenities and they wrap around you so nicely. This includes power windows, a cup holder center console, AM/FM/cassette stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. Your seat power adjusts to the ideal driving position, and the tilt steering column gives you a clear view to the white-faced gauges. So you can tell this is a custom coupe made for driving. We love the look of the engine bay that gives you such a smooth and custom look that youll love showing it off at the car shows. The Holden engine cover is a nice touch of distinction, and it tells the truth about whats underneath. This Camaro is now powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8. The fuel-injected powerhouse has a very fresh presentation, and in fact, its believed the build has hardly been driven any miles. The odometer is more likely set to the low-mileage of the 4th-gen donor motor. We all know the LS1 is a great motor for power, and so there are the right supporting pieces to handle it. That includes a fresh-looking suspension with tubular A-arms and adjustable coilovers up front. The four-speed automatic transmission was built to be paired with the LS1s power, and at the same time, it can also deliver overdrive comfort. Plus, power steering, grippy ZR-rated tires, and four-wheel power disc brakes make this an all-around great driver. Complete with build receipts, this is a beautiful, fresh, distinct, and powerful custom icon. So you know it needs to be in your garage. Call now!
