Gleaming Garnet red paint with black fender striping… At the Mecum 2020 Dallas auction a 1969 Camaro SS convertible sold for over $90,000.
I purchased this car in 2013 from Brighton Motors/Joe Saunders, pitcher with Arizona Diamondbacks. The odometer reading was 43,441 when I purchased it and currently has 47,658. It is Garnet Red with Black Paint with Houndstooth seats. This car has 4-speed, power steering, power brakes and Classic Air A/C (using the factory controls and air center air outlet). The engine is a period correct 396, 375 hp. A Ron Davis aluminum radiator, shroud and dual fans were installed. It has a vintage looking radio with a jack to accept music input. Drive it anywhere as everything works – including the clock!
Once I purchased the car, I had the engine pulled and completely overhauled. Engine was sent out for complete remanufacture, block was cleaned squared decked and bored .030. Crankshaft was a machine 10/10 and heads received a complete high-performance valve job with new valves, springs, seals and keepers. The completed rotating assembly was balanced. Engine was reassembled with Federal-Mogul bearings, pistons were to provide a 9.5 compression ratio and new rings installed. A new Comp Cams hydraulic roller camshaft, lifters and pushrods were installed with a new double roller timing set. All new gaskets and seals were used in re-assembly. Halogen headlights were installed.
Ignition was updated with Petronix Ignitor and coil. A new Edelbrock 1406 carb with electric choke replaced a Holly 4 bdl. Front wheels were removed bearings cleaned/packed with new seals and Delco brake pads. Rear end was disassembled and new Richmond 3.08 gearset installed with new carrier bearings, new pinion bearings and seal. I have the 3.73 gears that came out of the car.
Original
rims and tires taken off and replaced with new Cragar mags and Goodrich radial
tires. I have the original rims and
period correct tires.
I have a clear Texas Title. Offered @ $88,000. Serious buyer only for blue chip classic muscle car. 713-598-5816
