1969 ZL1 CAMARO

The story of the ZL1 Camaro, fitted with that rarest of the rare, all-aluminum 427 big-block V-8, is one that has often been told: How only 69 were made, how they exploited the GM option-ordering system, and how they've become the Camaro guy's ultimate Camaro.

Classic Car Overview

This is an absolutely beautiful car that's a true mix of old and new.  When this car was purchased almost all of it was original, obviously original ball joints, suspension and many other items needed replaced.  With that said I kept it as true as I could.  During the restoration we replaced everything with OE parts, really keeping it pure from a suspension and handling perspective.  We even took off the original exhaust manifolds, sand blasted and re-ceramic coated them.  There's far to much to list as far as what was replaced.  However, I did leave the motor and transmission as original as possible.  The car is has a 396/375 in it and as it was built in LA you can only go by dates.  Everything is date correct except the block which is about 10 months older.  Our guess is it was a warranty block but that's unknown.  The transmission is also original and is a turbo 400.  I love the feel and performance of the original cars but the appearance is obviously more modern.  I have also installed an amazing sounds system that's only viewable with the trunk open.  I also replaced the seats with the deluxe version, they are much cooler in the heat.  The body and paint was done by Sterling Restorations and is truly unbelievable, over 50k all together have been invested in this car.  Feel free to shoot me a note for additional information and any other pictures you would like to see.
