VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

Im offering my 1968 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper, an early Bay Window Westy built November 1967 and outfitted by Westfalia with a full camper interior. This is a presentable, restored driver that runs well, looks great, and is ready to be enjoyed right away.

Its a solid, honest Westfalia that starts easily, drives smoothly, and camps as it should. The bus presents nicely, the interior is clean and usable, and it has the right look and feel that made these iconic. Its a great setup for Hana camping trips or exploring anywhere in the Hawaiian Islands.

The camper setup includes the pop-top, upper sleeping cot, icebox, closet, table, overhead storage, and curtains everything youd expect in a proper Westfalia. Its finished in the classic Velvet Green, a great color that really suits these early buses and stands out without being flashy.

Its powered by a 1600 single-port engine that was recently rebuilt and runs strong. The 4-speed transmission shifts smoothly thanks to new shifter bushings and couplers no grinding, no popping out of gear. The engine starts quickly, revs clean, and drives the way it should. All lights, gauges, and switches are working properly.

Here are a couple of short videos showing the bus running and driving:

Within the last few years, the bus received a comprehensive refresh, including paint, interior, rubber seals and gaskets, suspension components, steering parts, brakes, and a discreet modern radio and speakers for everyday usability while keeping the classic feel.

The underside is clean, dry, and unrestored. The original dealer-installed belly pans are intact, and there are no signs of prior accident damage. This bus originally came from California and has a clean, clear title.

Ive priced this realistically and fairly to sell. Early Westfalias continue to climb in value, and finding a clean, usable example like this is getting harder.

Serious buyers only please.
If youve been looking for a Westfalia you can enjoy immediately, this is a great opportunity.
