Classic Car Overview

High Octane Classics is proud to offer this 1968 Porsche 911 finished in Polo Red over black leatherette and Pepita cloth, powered by a 2.0-liter flat-six equipped with dual Weber carburetors. Since 2021 this car has undergone a mechanical and visual refresh including refinishing the 15? Fuchs wheels, overhauling the Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle, installing Pertronix elecronic ignition and a sway bar kit, and replacing the alternator, heat exchangers, and windshield washer pump. The car was produced in the final year of the short wheelbase 911 series, and came finished from the factory in this color combination. It was repainted in 2018 following replacement of the front suspension pan and floors. Exterior details include side marker lamps, rear bumper guards, polished trim, and a chrome-plated grille on the rear engine lid. The 15? Fuchs wheels are mounted with 185/70 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires that show date codes from 2021. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension including longitudinal torsion bar, upper struts, and lower wishbones. The rear semi-trailing arm setup features a transverse torsion bar. A rear sway bar kit was installed in 2024.

The seating surfaces were reupholstered in black leatherette and Pepita cloth in 2022, and a replacement headliner, carpets, door panels, and dash were installed at that time. Lap belts were added in 2021 and the door seals were replaced. A digital stereo with an auxiliary input has been fitted in the stock location, and the cigarette lighter is inoperative. The VDO instrumentation was also refurbished, including the central 8k-rpm tachometer, 150-mph speedometer, analog clock, and gauges for fuel level, oil level, oil temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 4,882 miles but total mileage is unknown. The 2.0-liter flat-six was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque and has been fitted with dual Weber carburetors. Replacement heat exchangers were installed in 2021, while Pertronix electronic ignition was added and the alternator replaced in 2022. The fuel level sending unit was replaced in 2023. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Type 901 five-speed manual transaxle, which was overhauled and fitted with replacement synchros, dog rings, and shorter gearing in 2024. The clutch release bearing and pilot bearing were replaced in 2021, and a replacement clutch was installed in 2017.
