Classic Car Overview
Greetings -
This is my 68 GTO which I built 100% myself . Paint , Custom Upholstery , Engine and Trans , Suspension , Stereo etc so I can answer ANY question you may have about my machine and yes it drives very nicely and gets a lot of attention !
NO PHONE NUMBER / NO REPLY
This is a freshly restored machine that I finished in May of 2024 .
I have several folders with invoices and over 500 + hours in this Beauty and a Clean Texas Title in my name . Almost 1000 miles on it now .
I really like the Gen 3 F body GTA Trans ams , OBS SS trucks and other cool LOW mile classics including air cooled Porsches - so if you have a partial trade let me know and we can discuss it !
Details :
I started with a Clean and genuine 242 shell which had been stripped of any removable parts. Quarter panels and trunk pan had been done and the floor and frame were in super condition.
Sheetmetal , bumpers , Glass , Trim etc is all NEW and I used a Texas legal window tint ( except windshield ) .
I sourced a 69 YS 400 Block with 71 #96 heads and set it up to run 9.5 Compression with Forged Speed Pro pistons (.040 ) and Balanced rotating assembly , 274h Comp Cams package with springs , Pro Magnum roller tip rockers and push rods , 800 cfm Edelbrock Performer AVS2 carb and new fuel tank , Edelbrock pump and SS lines ,4 row HD aluminum radiator , Flow Kooler water pump and HEI ignition system with Taylor 8.2 wires
The car is Stout and sounds really nice !
Sheetmetal is all Dyna corn and I actually cut out the scoop openings in the hood to introduce fresh air into the engine compartment and I also made custom wire mesh inserts . Factory style hood tach and underside of hood is fully insulated !
I only use Chroma Base coat / Clear coat and did 5 coats of each and a 3 stage cut and polish and the color is one I used on My 1986 IROC which is Bright blue metallic / really beautiful silver flake.
Wheels are from Year One and are 17" x 9" and 17' x 8 " with Nitto 555s
275/50/17 out back and 255/50/17 up front
I used Genuine Italian leather for every inch of the interior including headliner , dash and package tray and a very subtle blue thread to match the paint . Being 6'2" I also installed seat extenders ( 2"0 ) I incorporated the Vintage Air into the dash for a stock look . I kept the style of the door panels as stock and I prefer the look of the 70 seats so that is what I stitched for them and they are hand tufted . Premium Carpet with Mass backing and a 750 Watt system with Bluetooth and CD! All interior including ceiling and doors has Kilmat sound deadener!
I built a 75 Th400 with a small 2200 stall and shift kit . I redid the 8.2 rear with the Yukon 3:36 Dura - Grip Package and axles to match . For those who want to do more highway cruising the Gear Vendors pkg is a popular choice and of course the 4 speed automatic route . I wanted to to retain the character of the original machine .
I also have a 700r4 with the adapter plate for the Pontiac engine that I can include !
Wilwood Power 4 wheel Disc Brakes , Tubular front suspension and boxed arms out back with sway bar . I also built the power steering system with quick ratio box and new springs on all 4 corners and KYB Gas adjust shocks.
Custom 3.5 inch aluminum driveshaft
Dougs Ceramic coated headers with dual high flow Cats and Magnaflow mufflers . Dual 2100 cfm Derale fans and high output 220 amp alternator.
I have been in the industry for more than 25 years Buying , Selling and Building and only advertise on Auto trader Classics - great platform and I have sold some beautiful machines to some great people !
If you are serious and actually have the $$$ to buy my car then we might be able to make a deal and no I do not have to sell it Thank God .Also I would have no problem kicking in for transport costs if required !
If I cut it loose I want it to go to a Good home for sure !
