Classic Car Overview
I found this car in Orange, CA and bought it for $30K from the original owner's nephew who was buying a house and needed the money for a deposit. He loved the car as it was his Uncle's who had recently passed, so it held a great deal of sentimental value. The original owner bought it in LA and was at the time a Rocket Scientist for JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory). It was a rust free one owner California car.
The car still wore its original paint however the engine had been replaced with a performance big block 440 which had received some cylinder head work along with a Sig Erson cam and 850 Holley double pumper carb. Hooke Headers and a Three and a half thousand, high stall speed torque converter.
We completely re-built the car to a pro-street classic, at Hot Rod & Customs in Ventura, CA where extensive work was done (spending $40K). We fabricated "Mini Tubs" and narrowed the rear axle to house the 13 inch wide tires using as much of the original sheet-metal as possible. The suspension was lowered to give a raked street appeal. New Upholstery, new carpets and a news stereo. There are also exhaust cutouts installed.
The car was painted with a special mix of three colors (blues and purple) and blended in the time-honored tradition of a Gene Winfield "fade".
The car has been used as a promotional vehicle for the last 3 years at very low miles, and kept garaged. It will need to be de-branded (logo on doors) of which we can discuss the best approach.
