Classic Car Overview

If youre a Mopar fan who loves drag racing, do we have a unicorn for you! Here we have an1968 Plymouth Barracuda factory B029 race car that terrorized the strips back in the day. This is one of just 70 ever built by Hurst Performance.

We sold this amazing Mopar back in 2017 and when we had the opportunity to acquire it once again, we did. This car represents an incredible, over $100,000 three-year restoration that was conducted by Hodges Restorations (Inman, South Carolina). Since then, the Barracuda has traveled less than a mile (0.3).

The extensive documentation includes drag racing photos, B029 Registry and information on its seven owners. It also includes the restoration receipts and specs on its Race Hemi engine as well as Galan Goviers full decoding report (with photos). Note that the VIN appears on the dash, radiator support and drivers side rear quarter panel.

Powered by a 426 Hemi with dual quads mounted on a cross ram intake, this beast will put you back in the seat. That race Hemi was built by Hensley Performance in Knoxville TN, has been dyno tested at 732 horsepower and requires C14 racing fuel.

All that brute power runs through a Torque-Flite 727 automatic transmission that was built by Richard Allison / A&A transmission with a 3500 stall convertor and trans-brake. Putting that force to the ground is a stout Dana 60 Sure-Grip rear end now fitted with a 4.10 gear. Note that this drag strip terror originally had a super-aggressive 4.86 rear gear.

As youd expect, this Barracuda is a rip-roaring rocket and not for the faint-hearted! Strap in, fire it up and hold on! With this potent Plymouths incredible combination of rarity, comprehensive documentation (including owners history) and stunning restoration (with less than a mile since!), this is an opportunity not to be missed!
