The Shelby GT350 wasn't the only high-performance Mustang available if you wanted a fast pony.
Classic Car Overview
Mechanically in very good shape - remanufactured 350 V8 motor w/ Edelbrock 4-barrel carb & rebuilt 3 speed transmission hooked up to chrome headers feeding into Flowmaster 40 series exhaust w/ cross pipe.
All new brake system finished March 29th
It needs paint as the 15 year old clear coat started flaking.
I have owned the car since 2001 and have replaced almost every component on the car.
Front end suspension rebuilt, alternator, plugs, wires, cap and rotor, starter, radiator all recently replaced or upgraded.
Brand new Interstate battery as of April 2nd
Mechanical is way more important to me than paint and wheels.
Next steps were for paint and have new seats installed.
Only 3400 miles on remanufactured Rocket 350 motor and rebuilt 3 speed automatic transmission
Motor remanufactured by Jasper Engines - Not rebuilt - the difference explained on this page: https://www.jasperengines.com/remanufactured-engines-faq
All new brake system - Front end was converted to front disc brakes
Rebuilt front-end suspension, bushings, motor mounts and
KYB heavy duty shocks
17" Boss rims with unidirectional low-profile tread tires in good shape
Additional gauges: Tachometer mounted next to steering column
Oil pressure, water temperature mounted below dash
Electronic ignition distributor upgrade installed to eliminate points below rotor cap
Ford electronic starter bypass ensures it always starts as stock GM design can overheat
Electric fuel pump installed to support 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor upgrade
Tighter turning radius steering gear box and power steering pump upgraded and replaced
Replaced windshield to eliminate 50 years of road wear scratch haze
Custom Grant aluminum and leather steering wheel - original wheel comes with the car
The seats I have I am hesitant to weld into place because the next buyer may not like them or want to install stock or racing seats that would attach/mount differently that the seats I have. The ones I have are for the comfort of my back.
I recently purchased OEM reproduction seat mounting plates that need a quick welding job to the floor of the body. Also have new OEM reproduction seat rails that bolt to the mounting plates and bolt to the bottom of the seats.
It is an inexpensive and relatively quick welding job to have the plates installed.
Custom-made roll bar installed that dramatically helps with body flex - can be easily removed and reinstalled
Shoulder 3 point seat belts installed. Secured with original body frame seatbelt bolts with relay pulley attached through thick bolt in roll bar
New carpet installed - which is why kick panels with speakers and sill plates are not installed in photos
Dynamat coating (aluminum coated asphalt sound insulation) inside trunk lid to avoid 'tin cans in the trunk' rattle
Interior floor is coated in same type of product.
AM/FM CD with Aux input and remote control
400 watt amp powers two 6x9 speakers in back seat / two 5.5" rounds in front seat kick panels
10" Subwoofer cube in trunk powered by 300 watt amp.
Replaced glove box interior cube to shiny and new. Lock needs to be replaced
Needs new 'securing ring' surround for key ignition
The 3rd nacelle in the dash is designed for the clock feature.
Original 1968 Olds Cutlass clock included in sale. Not sure if functional. Not installed
Top of dash board is NOT cracked and has a black felt dash pad cover on it for the last 20 years
Rearview mirror from 1990s Ford Mustang w/two lights on bottom of mirror that light up on entry
Remote key fob electric locks
Hidden buttons under edge of dash operate electric door locks while in vehicle
Carbine Alarm system with open doors, trunk, hood sensors as well as interior radar that allows roof to be left down with alarm armed
New wiper switch
New headlight switch
8 year old convertible roof in good shape except for two recent (cold weather) slits above side windows
New Landau convertible cover included to cover roof behind back seats when lowered
All branding labels removed prior to repaint last repaint
Chrome trim strips that ran along top of fenders and doors removed prior to last paint
Original bumpers and hood. No thin metal aftermarket replacement parts.
Both bumpers previously re-chromed
The whole body got a bare metal repaint 15 years ago but the clear coat on it has freaked out and started to peel
Body in very good shape. Very thorough rust abatement at last repaint which has only recently started to show in places like a spot by driver's door sill.
Some butthead tapped the left rear side marker pulling in/out of a parking space.
This is a 50 year old car. There are issues that need to be addressed, but other than the seats needing to be secured, this car is in very good mechanical shape and could do a long road trip today. I will tell you everything you want to know.
This is a cash only sale
Don't bother me if you want pay by cashier check / money order or anything electronic. Not happening. Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible
