Classic Car Overview

1968 Mercury Cougar 302 V4

This is a magnificent Mercury Cougar- considered as a survivor car, but nice enough to complete it as restored.
it is rust free and I am the third owner. All owners have lived in Cabarrus or Rowan counties in North Carolina since purchased new. The actual miles are 98,000.
This car is very nice and clean. It has all original carpet, upholstery, and detailing. The only item that has been replaced is the radio (and it works).
The paint is in good condition, metal is in good condition with a few small light places. The chrome bumpers looks like new. The rear passenger window does not raise fully up, but I have the regulator kit for its repair. The vinyl top is in good condition.
The engine is a Windsor 302-4V
It runs very well after I had a new Holly carburetor installed with new wires, air filter and distributor. It has electronic ignition. I restored the air cleaner to original factory specifications.
The front brakes have been converted to Wilwood disc brakes. A 1 1/2" spacer was required on each side.
I am 78 years old and my first new car was a 1968 Mercury Cougar. This car brought back some good memories. I have spent several thousand on it since my purchase to ensure this car was brought up to good running condition. The AC has been converted to new freon and works well.
I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and am not physically up to restoring it as I had planned. I would love for the new owner to be able to own and enjoy this beauty. You will not be disappointed.
