More information about the model year 1986 GMC 1500 Custom: The 1968 GMC 1500 Custom was a half-ton pickup truck produced by the GMC division of General Motors. It was part of the second generation of the GMC C/K series, which was produced from 1960 to 1966 and again from 1967 to 1972. The 1968 GMC 1500 Custom was available in a range of body styles, including a regular cab with an 8-foot bed and an extended cab with a 6.5-foot bed. It had a classic pickup truck design with a simple, utilitarian look. Under the hood, the 1968 GMC 1500 Custom came with a standard 250-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine that produced 155 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque. Optional engines included a 292-cubic-inch inline six-cylinder engine and a 307-cubic-inch V8 engine. The 1968 GMC 1500 Custom was known for its solid construction and reliable performance. It featured a rugged body-on-frame design with leaf spring suspension and drum brakes. Power steering and power brakes were available as options.
