LARRY'S LEGEND LIVES

Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

Classic Car Overview

1968 FORD MUSTANG Cobra RESTO-MOD - with rebuilt 351 Windsor, with less than 6,000 miles since full Rebuild: VIN is 8T01C170507, title in hand

This beautiful modified classic looking Ford Mustang is finished in a deep Royal Metallic Blue with light blue dual stripe with matching combo interior.  It has a very stylish hood with blinker indicators built in with the light blue dual stripe on the full hood over the cowl vent and to the windshield. . It has all new, single side mirror, GT grill with Fog lamps, chrome bumpers, 351 and Mustang Emblem, door handles, tail lights, Shelby gas cap, trim, weather stripping and window seals. This was a complete restoration back in 1993 and 1994 with some additional upgrades over the years since.  Pretty much every piece of chrome was originally replaced.

Under the hood is a very clean compartment, with a complete rebuilt 351 Windsor from a 69 mustang (F13726548), bored 60 over, with an Edelbrock performance intake, Holly Street Avenger 4 bbl carb 670 CFM, Holly high performance fuel pump, Hedman Headers, a Flowmaster Flowcooler water pump, and Cobra valve covers and a rebuilt power steering unit.  The transmission is 5 speed T5 rebuilt Racing World Transmission.  It also has Front Disc Brakes (2018), a custom dual exhaust system with chrome tips, new shocks (2018), springs and coils, a full size spare in the trunk. It also has a new 3.50 Posi-Traction Rear and 9” housing. New Infinity 6x9 speakers (2021).  The wheels are a Mustang styled Steel Wheel with Goodyear Eagle ST P215/70R14 Tires. Very clean and no rust we are aware of….

The interior has been completely redone with new carpet and headliner. The vinyl seats have new cushions and upholstery. The dash has been upgraded with the modern Dakota Digital Dash (2015) in a neon blue tone for the display. There is an aftermarket woodgrain steering wheel, with matching woodgrain in the dash and console, a new RetroSound, bluetooth radio (2019) also in matching neon blue display, a custom aftermarket Shelby console with built in additional gauges (not connected and in my opinion only thing that could be improved on for the car), aftermarket Blue 8 ball shifter knob, new door panels, new door handles, new window cranks and new sill plates.

The car is in Excellent condition and could be used as a daily driver or as a show car only.

This has been a garage kept and show only RESTOMOD 1968 Mustang Cobra.

The odometer shows 1,031 miles since digital dash install but car has less than 6,000 miles drive time since 1993/94 rebuilt.

Everything was professionally completed, no self install. Most of the build and paint done by the famous Gelsi Mustang World (now retired) and Johnson’s auto body (also retired) in Vineland NJ.   Engine rebuild completed by a former Mustang Club of NJ president (also retired), Engine was tuned by retired race shop owner in 2018.

There are some minor scratches in the paint from the over the years….

All records of anything done to the vehicle since 1993 available to take with the vehicle or verify accuracy of listing.

Full disclosure, this car when built in 1968 was Royal Maroon with Black bucket seats, 289 with 2 bbl, 3 speed manual.

Serious offers considered. I can also help get low interest rate financing (already confirmed with the company)
