Classic Car Overview
1968 Mustang Tribute Shelby GT 350 Snake – GT 350 S
History: Car was purchased locally in 2014 and was dismantled for restoration. Car was professionally media blasted (take all the paint off) to start restoration of the body. Panels repaired, and floor replaced. All metal was done professionally by a expert body man. A rotisserie rack was used to turn the car around to do metal work. Catalyzed primer was used, and a PPG base color coat and several layers of clear coat applied. Research was done to find information of a 1 off Shelby Snake (1968) that had stripes that later became the Mach 1 hood stripe designs. All stripes were done within the paint and clear coated. The motor started from a 5.0 litre 302 V8 was taken to a local engine machinist and built it up with high-end performance parts. It was machined and upgraded to a stroked 331 V8 roller engine. RPM air gap aluminum intake with a 675 Holley was installed. Same color exterior paint was applied to the engine. A 5-speed manual T-5 transmission was used with a hydraulic clutch and slave. Chrome headers with 2.5" aluminumized pipe connected to Flowmaster 50's and trumpet tip for exhaust. Suspension was replaced with all new performance mustang parts from Mustang's plus and CJ Pony parts. 4.5 mid leaf spring rear springs added on the rear. Rear end is an 8.8" with a traction-lock 3.55 gears. 4-wheel disc brakes were added using Wilwood brakes. This car stops! 17 x 8 wheels by Legendary Wheel replicated the Magnum 500 rims with an updated look. BFGoodrich G-Force VR rate tires were used, but no white letters were available. Had Tire Stickers assisted by providing a permanent letter solution so a white letter appearance would come true. Interior was replaced using TMI Sport XR material for a custom look. Every part on this car was replaced or fully restored. The end result is how you see it today - awesome! I have shown this car to multiple car shows. Not to blow my horn, but this car wins every show I enter. It has won our coveted local GM Bowtie car show as “Best in Show” award over all GM and other cars. I am selling it because of un-certain economic conditions which force my company to close soon due to supply chain issue related to micro-chips. This is one beautiful car and drive great too!
