VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

This Fiat 110F Berlina 500 dates back to 1968. It’s the exact same model that the Museum of Modern Art in New York has recently added to its art collection (read about the MoMA Fiat here: http://www.fiatpress.com/press/article/the-fiat-500-acquired-by-the-museum-of-modern-art-in-new-york).

Our Fiat has a rust-free body and original parts like the engine, speedometer & steering wheel. You can also verify the authenticity of the engine looking at its inscription (Fiat 110F.000). This classic also comes with all of its antique documents: libretto, certificato di proprietà and original license plates.

Based on the original fabric sample found in the hood of the car, it’s been determined that the interiors of this vehicle were beige with white trim. Unfortunately, Fiat did not start identifying the original color code on Chassis I.D. plates until 1970, so the original exterior color of this 1968 Fiat 500 cannot be verified. However, based on the interior fabric sample, we have determined that the original exterior of the car could be any one of the following: Rosso Medio (#115), Beige Sabbia (#583) or Blu Scuro (#456).

We have carefully executed the total restoration of this Fiat. We have chosen to keep our Fiat 500 as close to original as possible. Feel free to follow its restoration by looking through the photographs provided.

The car is currently located in Austin, TX. Please let us know if you have any questions or may be interested in purchasing the vehicle. We're happy to send along more photographs or set up a time to show you the car in person.
