Exterior
Some subtle exterior cues turn your grocery getter Coronet into something legendary. Here, the two stage yellow paint serves the perfect canvas for the iconic Super Bee tail stripes and logo; a helmeted and wheeled wasp, stinger out and sandwiched between bold period font. Lets stay in the back where the simple yet effective tai llights cant towards the center and dual exhaust leave with a more inboard position and today, these features define the muscle car. Color matched 15-inch wheels are nice touch and wrapped in red line tires while yellow film over the high beam lenses gives the street machine a unique but still intimidating fascia. Its a beautifully proportioned car and rear quarter body lines form faux ducts that add to the aesthetics. The car is show worthy even with imperfections that include paint chips, (touched up and not), scuffs, inclusions, an area of orange peel, paint runs, light blistering below rear window, uneven body work in the lower part of the drivers door, surface scratches, and a bubble on the door.

Interior
Shiny black vinyl covers the inner doors and is in generally good shape with some looseness noted and flaking and peeling on the drivers side. The split bench and rear seat, also in black vinyl, present nicely and other than the horn ring, the front view is also monochromatically black. Ribbed plastic forms the faceplate of the instrument cluster, a series of black faced gauges in a straight line across the dash. Fan switches are suspended from the dash pad overhang and a water temp gauge has been added below it. A snaking Hurst shifter rises from the floor over black loop carpet and the headliner above is high and tight. We note some surface rust throughout the trunk including on the floor.

Drivetrain
Under the hood is a clean, period correct 440ci V8 with a 4-barrel carburetor. Its mated to a non original A833 4-speed manual transmission that routes power to the 8 inch rear axle with 3.23 gears and SureGrip.

Undercarriage
Clean and mostly dry conditions are found underneath where we note some oil film on the transmission bottom. Dual exhaust connects at an H-pipe and continues on to find stock style mufflers, finally exiting out back through rectangular tips. Disc brakes are used up front while drums are in back. Suspension is comprised of torsion bars in front and leaf springs in back.

Drive-Ability
A 68 B-body with a 440 under the hood? Good thing its one persons job to test cars, or wed be drawing straws all day. Even so, we wont be doing anything crazy as were on 20 year old tires, but do get the car out on the test loop where it proves to be a good runner and lives up to its name of being super. All functions on this low optioned car that was originally built to order, work as intended and its back to the beehive for this one!
