Classic Car Overview

Cars like this are getting very difficult to find. This is a numbers matching 1968 Corvette 427/390 big block (IL code), with its original close ratio (M21) transmission, and posi-traction rear end. The 45,289 miles showing on the odometer are original and verifiable. Painted in its original color of Safari Yellow, this stunning roadster is equipped with power steering and brakes, AM/FM stereo radio, teak wood steering wheel, red line tires and rally wheels. The seats are in excellent shape with no rips or tears or other signs of age. Carpet shows minor fading in the usual spots that are exposed to the sun. All gauges work (except the clock), and the bezels are like new. The top is newer and in great shape except for one small tear on the passenger side from being folded in the storage space. The rear window is clear. (see pictures). This car has had 5 owners since 1968, and has lived in Illinois, Wyoming, Arizona, and for the last 15 years, Ohio, where is was exclusively a summer driver and taken to shows. It has been lovingly maintained throughout the years. The Ohio owner has spent $10,000 since 2009 getting things back to being correct for the car (produced on October 27, 1967). Replaced has been the exhaust system, radiator, and rear suspension rubber...old aftermarket clamps and hoses have been replaced with Corvette correct ones, all belts have been replaced, new speakers with correct OHM for the car. Rebuilt items have been carb, brakes, and windshield wiper motor. The original bias ply spare and jack are still with the car. The HEI electronic ignition has been replaced with an MSG unit. The Ohio owner also thinks the build sheet is still on top of the gas tank...well check it out and post it when we find out. The car did not come with a hardtop, but we have one available for purchase if the new owner desires one.
