Here we have a for sale 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Convertible for sale. This is a factory SS 396 car with the 138 Vin. Its done in the factory color scheme and is a beautiful example of a classic muscle car convertible. This 68 also comes with the White convertible top that is also the factory option and is also a power option. The top goes up and down with ease and still has the original Red Boot that it came with in 68. This Super Sport features a lot of its original trim and stainless. While it does show some light aging, we can see that it is all still beautiful and in excellent condition for its age. On the inside, its done in the factory 796-B option of Medium Red with Bucket Seats. The medium red color scheme flows perfectly with the exterior color combo. The door panels look to be original and are in great condition for their age. It does come with the standard crank windows that all go up and down with ease and a great fit. The carpet is very nice, and it looks to have original sill plates. The original red visors are also in great condition. We can see that the front buckets and rear bench seats are all very nice as well. This SS does have the center console option that houses the Muncie Four Speed Shifter. Looking at the dash we can see that the pad is in phenomenal condition. All the gauges are very nice, and it has a center roller tach. It also comes with the original SS Steering Wheel which is also very nice for its age. Inside the trunk, we can see the pan is solid and that its detailed out with the spatter paint. Finally, we will get to the heartbeat of this Chevrolet. Under the hood we can see the inner fenders and firewall are all rock solid. The radiator support is also in excellent condition. The power comes from the matching numbers L34 396 V8 with suffix code EF that designates the L34 350HP. Its set up with the factory intake and Quadrajet Four Barrel Carb 7028217. This Super Sport is dressed in the factory-style valve covers and air cleaner with the 396 call-outs. We can also see that it still has the factory smog system still intact. This Chevelle does come optioned with Power Steering along with Power Brakes. For exhaust, it has manifolds with new dual pipes and turbo mufflers. The 396 V8 is mated to the original Muncie Four Speed transmission that goes out to the original 12 Bolt Rear end with the KJ suffix with 3:55 Gears. When we look under this Chevelle we can see that a new gas tank has been installed. The floor pans and frame all look very nice and appear to have been well cared for over the years.
