Classic Car Overview

The first generation Camaro is one of the great American classics, with timeless styling that still draws stares almost 60 years later. The graceful curves echo British and Italian sportscars, but the power is pure American muscle. This 1968 Camaro convertible was built in Norwood, Ohio in September, 1968--the second year of the first-generation muscle car built by Chevrolet to "kill and eat" Ford Mustangs, according to a Chevrolet executive. The car is completely sorted, ready for cruising -- summer days, drive-ins, car shows and country roads top-down fun. If you are looking for that Camaro you always wanted, ready to drive anywhere with no worries or wrenching required, this is the one.
It is badged as an SS model with nearly all the SS features, but handles and performs much better than the factory original SS or Z28, with more horsepower and better suspension. The original color, Island Teal Poly, is rare on Camaros, a real show-stopper that dazzles on a sunny day. The original 327 c.i.d. V8 was recently replaced with a new Chevrolet Performance High Output 350 c.i.d /357 HP, with fewer than 8,000 miles on the road. Other upgrades in 2022-23:
New front subframe and suspension (rear is unibody)
4 bbl Holly carburetor
Chevrolet custom valve covers
Ceramic coated headers
Custom handcrafted dual exhaust
Precise Borgeson power steering
Coil-over suspension (front)
New staggered shocks (back)
New fuel lines
New battery
Fuel pump
Water pump
Alternator (chrome)
Flywheel
Electronic ignition (distributor)
New BF Goodrich Radial T/As on American Racing chrome mag wheels
Glove compartment rebuild
Corbeau bucket seats, bolstered, with head restraints (original buckets, in exc. cond., go with the car)
Retrosound stereo matches original OEM radio, with AM/FM, USB and Bluetooth/phone
Rear subwoofer
4-on-the-floor Muncie transmission, flushed and filled after removal and inspection, reinstalled with new seals
New Camaro floormats match exterior paint

Everything works -- all lights, switches and equipment -- except windshield washers.
Minor paint cracks around new radio antenna.
Some surface rust in wheel wells.
Rust on new brake reservoir.
Paint chips in original black trim surrounding headlights.
Small gap at top of left rear window.

All work was done by Steve's Classic Cars in Goshen, Ohio. Work records and verification available on request to serious buyers.
Haggerty value for this Camaro in No. 2 condition is $61,800 -- not including upgrades such as new subframe, suspension and new 350 HO V8.
Owner's manual, factory build manual and convertible top instructions included.
Car body is straight, no filler and rust free with no accidents reported in VIN history.
