Classic Car Overview
1968 Camaro Convertible, a true classic with only 20,440 ever made 57 years ago. Great Bones, straight body, with only a few minor rust spots, and no "Bondo" to speak of. No accidents, with only two little bumps in its 57 year lifespan. Outstanding restoration candidate!
Red with black convertible top and black interior. (Will take and upload pictures in coming days.) I've owned this car for 48 years . . . bought it from my wrestling coach in 1977, and she's created more fun and memories than I can possibly list. I've had her in storage for over 40 years, but now, it's time to let her go.
Rebuilt 350 cubic inch V-8, bored 0.030" over. Rebuilt engine just before putting in storage. New 10.5:1 aluminum forged pistons, rings, crankshaft and camshaft bearings, moderate cam (.449" lift, 288 duration), Rochester quadrajet, double roller timing chain, lifters, high volume oil pump, windage tray, headers into stock dual exhaust and full length pipes through oval mufflers (not too loud, but nice deep rumble with slight "lobe".) She ran well, and very fast, when I last put her away, and very low miles since that engine rebuild, but that was over 40 years ago, so I would definitely have her opened up, "looked and lubed" before starting her. I checked, she's still got clean, clear oil in her! (I know I could increase the price if I had this done myself before selling, but just don't have the time or drive to do so.)
She has a four speed Muncie, manual trans, front disc brakes, power steering, stock rally wheels (missing 1 ring). I had new ball joints, pitman arm, idler arm, and front coil springs, all replaced at around 90,000 miles. She's going to need new brake seals and radiator hoses though.
She needs new cloth for the convertible top, some new parts, some body and interior work, and a new paint job - but like I said, a great restoration candidate for either a good profit or a great "Looker" to drive yourself.
Clean title.
Let me know if you're interested or have any questions.
Thanks,
Dave
