Interior The black palette inside creates a handsome and clean cabin, beginning with the door panels with a ribbed design over a smooth lower, accented by silver trim. The seats wear black vinyl and both the front buckets and rear bench are in great shape, with just slight compression on the drivers throne. Dual gauges are in the sightline past the 3 spoke steering wheel and show a touch of patina, framed in glossy black while the center stack gets coverage of faux wood film and houses the A/C panel and a more modern AM/FM/CD Pioneer radio. The wood takes a break long enough to feature the quad gauge set up in the middle, then returns for the base of the horseshoe shifter that hovers over the greenish indicator plate. Both the black carpet and black headliner are in nice condition, and the trunk is clean and lined with a plaid vinyl mat. Drivetrain We raise the hood like a green wave above us and find a clean 350ci V8 which had its top end rebuilt 3,400 miles ago and a mild cam was installed. You cant see that from looking at, but what you can see are chrome valve covers, a polished alternator, and a series of black hoses that crisscross like a rubbery octopus in the clean engine bay, while headers provide eight legs of their own! Behind the powerplant is a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the 12 bolt axle with 3.73 gears. Brakes are configured at discs in front and drums in the rear. Undercarriage Clean and uniformly black underneath with no surface rust seen and only residual oil on the pan and transmission bottom. The dual exhaust comes from the headers and are connected at an H-pipe before finding their way to a pair of FlowMaster mufflers, then a discrete exit behind each back wheel. As much as people love chrome tips, theres something subtle and cool about an exit without fanfare. Meanwhile, suspension includes coil springs up front and leaf springs with traction bars in the back. Drive-Ability The wonderful stance on this muscle car is a pleasant vision to walk up to when its time for a drive. This is the kind of car you walk around before hopping in. Once we did, the 350 came to life with a great idle and even better exhaust note. From there, the basic dash leads the way as the car accelerates with a bit of bravado, tracks straight, and handles well. Our functionality test found that the tail lights and reverse lights are not working, and the horn does not honk. Beyond that, everyone on board works as it should.
