Z28 is the most famous Chevrolet RPO code ever. No other option code has become so synonymous with high performance. Other option codes have been used for well-known packages such as Z22 and Z27, but the option names/descriptions became famous, not the RPO number.

1968 Camaro Pro-touring Resto-Mod, highly customized one-of-a kind! 99% complete, everything installed, still making final adjustments and a few electrical connections. 15 year custom frame off restoration, nothing on the car untouched. I originally built this to be a pro-touring track car but as the build went on it became to nice to track (for me anyway). This car will be an awesome driver or ready for the track or show. Too many details to list here, but I will include everything below as I go through my build data. Heres the quick-look: 468ci BB, Dart pro heads, Fast fuel injection, Hooker ceramic/wrapped headers 3" magnaflow custom stainless exhaust with electric cut-outs. Front end updated with complete TCI front clip, chrome/show kit, Wilwood Disc brakes front and rear. DSE mini-tub with Quadralink suspension. Turbo 400 with Gear Vendors overdrive. Fesler leather interior with many custom hand built pieces. Boze custom 3 piece 18" wheels, 275/35 front, 315/30 rear. More to follow.... Thanks for checking it out!
Body/Paint: Lyle's Paint and Body, Enid Ok. Entire car, under car, frame and engine down to metal, painted Candy Red, Dark Gray stripes, Chassis Black. 3 coats clear. Red: Chrysler (PEL) Gray Stripes: Toyota Dark Grey Sparkle. Custom exhaust notched cutouts, integrated rear-spoiler, all seams welded and sealed, Lines and gaps as close as possible for a first gen camaro! Full car touch-up and detail by Philip Stokes, Cairo, GA.
Lighting: HID front headlights, marker-lights delete, Digitails sequencial flush mount rear tail lights, LED rear license place holder with integrated reverse lights and rear-view camera. Stock dome light. Custom programmable LED interior and trunk lights.
Engine: Machine work at Dunsworth machine in Enid, Ok. Assembly at Donnie's Autocare in Enid, Ok. 468" (454 bored 60 over), forged Pistons, Stock crank, Dart Pro 1 320 Heads, moderate "street" Hydraulic roller Cam, High perf lifters, rockers, girdles, FAST Easy EFI fuel injection, 16 Gallon Stainless fuel tank with in-tank High flow pump (not the marginal one that came with the FAST kit) and sending unit. High volume oil pan, High flow oil pump, Oil and transmission cooling. March Pulleys serpentine pulley system with Vintage air, all chrome. MSD distributor with MSD 6AL ignition, Taylor 10mm under-header spark plug wires. Dyno tuned with carburator and stock heads to 470 HP 490 ft/lbs torque...probably 550+ with Dart heads and fuel injection.
Exhaust: Hooker ceramic headers, 3-1/2" collector to 3" Magnaflow full stainless exhaust with X-pipe, magnaflow mufflers, electric cut-outs with interior switch, all mandrel bent/welded 3" stainless pipes. 2-hole chrome tail-pipes exit through notched rear lower panel.
Drivetrain: Turbo-400 rebuilt for 800hp+, Gear Vendors overdrive (1200hp+), Fab-9 rear end with 3.73 gears from Dutchman Motorsports
Cooling: High capacity all-alluminum show quality radiator, High flow Maradyne performance electric fans, Hooker headers ceramic coated and wrapped for heat insulation. Dynamat on entire floor, trunk, doors, roof, firewall, as well as 1/2" rubber dyna-lite on floors and firewall for sound and heat control. This car is quiet inside and as loud as you want outside with the exhaust cut-outs open! It stays pleasantly cool on the firewall and floors with the dynamat and dynalite insulation and under-body under-coating. Wrapping the exhaust made a huge difference keeping heat in the engine bay down as well as on the floors and firewall.
Suspension: TCI Total Cost Involved complete front clip, chrome show parts, power steering rack and pinion, Wilwood 12" drilled and slotted front/rear disc brakes. (5000+installation)
Wheels: Boze custom 3 piece. Tires: BFG Rival G-Force 275/35-18 front, 315/30-18 rear (room for 335 on rear if desired (custom wheels 1200 each)
Interior: Custom interior by Darryl at Shadburn's Upholstery, Macon, GA. Fesler black leather matching seats front and rear. Custom carpet (medium dark Graphite, Essex Auto). Fesler Door panels and rear panels covered with Italian leater, synergy II performer Dark Graphite suede, Keyston Autobahn black vinyl on high/use or high sun areas. Momo "race" steering wheel. B&M "Quicksilver" ratcheting shifter, "Chevy" shift knob with button control for overdrive, Hand-made center console and center-dash console: Painted Gray/covered with vinyl/leather/suede to match doors. Marquez Design one-piece fiberglass headliner and Pilars covered in Dark Graphite suede. Dash pad covered in matching leather/vinyl. Push Button Keyless start FOB with remote start, security, electric door and truck locks. (30K+ into interior parts, labor, install)
Guages: VHX Analog/Digital guage system with integrated Fuel/Amps/RPM/Speed/temp
Stereo: Custom built and installation by "Chris" at AudioZoo in Macon GA. Perfect fit and finish and still usable trunk space! Finished in design-matched leather/vinyl/suede and accent pieces and LED lighting. Pioneer AVIC8200NEX stereo with Nav, and rear-view camera. Rockford Fosgate T1500 BDCP for subs, and T600 for front rest of speakers. Dynamat/Dyna-lite on all floors, trunk, doors, and roof. Audison Bit One DSP. Custom rear window speaker tray with Chevy emblem and Led lights, 6.5" Hertz Mille Pro 2-way speakers. 6.5 " 2-way Hertz Mille Pro door speakers. 6" Hertz Mille Pro front floor speakers and separate tweeters. Dash mounted Tweeters. 2x 12" Hertz HX300 subs, in glass enclosed 4th order box with LEDs. Custom rear trunk panels with hidden batteries (2 isolated/parallel Optima Yellow top) and shut-off switch, integrated trickle charge wires, heavy 2 Alt wires to starter and ignition. Keyless push-button start with FOB: electric door locks, electric trunk latch, Compustar Pro 11 security system. Hidden security relay switch for in-car start. (20K plus into all this)
