1988-1992 Chevrolet Camaro 1LE: The Original Factory Racer

With all the hoopla surrounding the new Camaro 1LE, let's look back at the original.

The story of the ZL1 Camaro, fitted with that rarest of the rare, all-aluminum 427 big-block V-8, is one that has often been told: How only 69 were made, how they exploited the GM option-ordering system, and how they've become the Camaro guy's ultimate Camaro.

Classic Car Overview

Check out this 1968 Chevy Camaro. This car was bought new in Burbank, California and remained in California for several years. There is alot of reciepts, and paperwork from California that goes with the car. This car has the original matching numbers 327 engine with 210 HP. It runs great. It still has manifolds with single exhaust. It still has the factory installed powerglide transmission. It has factory power steering but still has the drum brakes but they stop good. It is still the factory color of Butternut Yellow and 90% of the paint is original paint. The passenger side front fender has been painted. The body is super solid and straight. It has a few nicks but overall in very good condition. The bumpers front and back looks great as does all the chrome window trim. The interior looks new but not sure it is. It looks great though. This is a factory bucket seat car with center console and horseshoe shifter. The carpet, headliner, door panels and dash all look great. It even has tilt steering. The speedometer and gas hand both work as does the horn, wipers, radio and even the key buzzer. All the lights work even the dash light and dome light. All the glass is good and all the windows roll up and down good. The trunk is solid and has a trunk mat alone with a spare tire and jack. The Wheels are US Mag wheels that look great on this car. The tires are 205/70R15 on front and 215/70R15 on rear. The mileage shows a little over 50,000 and I was told that was the correct miles but I can not prove that. In my opinion I believe it to be right miles by the way it runs and drives and the overall condition that it is in.
