Classic Car Overview

1967 Shelby Cobra In 1961 a retired race car driver had a dream to find a sports car that could fit a more powerful V8 motor. That man was Carroll Shelby and that car became the Shelby Cobra. Shelby wrote to AC asking them to join him on this endeavor and they agreed should a suitable engine be found. He initially contacted Chevrolet but with the recent introduction of the Corvette, they refused to join him on the project. His next stop was Ford who understandably wanted something to compete with the Corvette and thus the Cobra was born. These cars have an extensive history in the automobile world and make for some of the coolest street cars on the road. These factory race cars can fetch in the millions of dollars nowadays which is why car builders are turning towards replicas to create their dream cars. This very nice 1967 Cobra is very well built and fresh with only around 600 miles on it. The 427 Cobra body is from Shell Valley which are known for their quality. That is to be expected as they have been one of the earliest to create them way back in 1971. It is painted in a beautiful Maroon color that has a slick finish. The car features the single roll bar and other nice accents like the racing front bumper. All of the stainless and chrome is in excellent condition throughout. The windshield is good with no issues and it has the windwings and tinted sun visors. You will also note it has the correct recessed chrome large gas cap. It is a very nice build and done to look original. The car rides on black American racing wheels with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires and knock off center caps. Roaring to life through the ceramic coated headers into side pipes (with heat shields) is the Ford 302ci 5.0 F150 sitting under the hood. The motor offers plenty of power and is fitted with nice Cobra valve covers, an oval air cleaner and a Holley Sniper EFI system. Backing up the motor is a Ford Racing World Class Tremec 5 speed that sends power back to the Ford 9 inch posi rear end. Disc brakes are found under all 4 corners and during the build stainless steel lines were used throughout. Underneath the car is very clean and it sits on the Shell Valley 5.0L 5 speed specific chassis. The car rides down the road well and it features an adjustable height and dampening QA-1 shocks. Being basically a race car the interior is kept very practical and is very nicely upholstered in Beige. That being said it also has some nice additions on the dash like the custom stereo with screen and Sniper EFI controller. The Black gauges are from Speedhut and all work properly. In between the bucket seats (with seat belts) you will find a custom console with storage and cupholders as well as the shifter and emergency brake handle. In front of the driver is a 3 spoke woodgrain steering wheel from Ididit which is exactly what you want to see in these cars. The trunk is all nicely carpeted and is where you will find the battery. This is a great looking car and is super fun t
