Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Classic Car Overview

This is the result of a 3 1/2 yr complete restoration. This '67 Firebird is what I call "Respectfully Restored and Modestly Modified". The 400 has been bored, stroked, balanced and blueprinted. Keith Black Pistons are at the heart of this engine along with a Performance Series Comp Cam and an Ohio Forged Crankshaft. Feeding this torque monster of an engine is an Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor which sits atop an Edelbrock Performer Manifold. Also under the hood you have the confidence and reliability of Petronix Ignition and Distributor giving you upgraded power while maintaining a stock look. The rebuilt engine has approx 5000 miles on it. The Front Tuned Suspension consists of QA1 upper and lower control arms and adjustable coil-over shocks with an upgraded sway-bar resulting in outstanding handling and cornering similar to a modern performance vehicle. Currently, the front-end has been lowered 1.75" but with a minor adjustment can be raised or lowered as you wish. You'll feel confident behind the wheel as the braking system has been upgraded to 4 Wheel Power Disc Brakes with drilled and slotted rotors which rest behind the New YearOne 17" Aluminum Rally II (frt: 17x8, rear: 17x9). And we didn't forget the complete Stainless Steel brake-lines. The Rear-end was upgraded with an Eaton Posi unit, and the gears are perfect for highway driving. The exhaust system consists of Ceramic Coated Hooker Headers, Thrush Performance Mufflers on 2 1/2" pipes with electric exhaust cutouts providing that added rumble and additional HP at your fingertips. This Firebird has had it's complete wiring system upgraded and updated with a new American Autowire harness running from front to rear. The Munchie M20 4 speed was recently rebuilt and a Hurst Competition Shifter was added. Modern additional gauges have a stock appearance at the center console resulting in positive feedback while maintaining that nostalgic look. The stereo is a Vintage Auto modern replica of the original stereo which offers AM/FM as well as Bluetooth and an Aux port. The Interior is completely new and flawless (seats, dash pad, door panels, kicker panels and carpeting, etc.). The Safety Belts are new and in working condition. Beneath the interior, we added Dyna-Mat Heat and Vibration covering to the floorpans (front to back), firewall and even the inside of the door skins. The Original Factory Hood Tach was rebuilt and upgraded with LED lights which will help during those late night cruises. The Power Convertible top is new and flawless and comes with a convertible boot cover (also new).

- Pontiac production numbers show 82,560 First Generation Firebirds were made in 1967.

- 15,528 of which were convertible.

- of those, 1,221 were built with the 400 option.

- it's believed that less than 22% of those came with the 4 speed manual option.

- making this First Generation Firebird 1 of 268 Convertible '67 Firebirds built with a 400 /4 speed. Pontiac enthusiasts are unsure of just how many are still in existence.
