IMPORTANT DOCUMENT & CONDITION OF SALE REMARKS: Bill of Sale, Georgia Title and Registration will be provided to the Buyer. This Vehicle is sold strictly as-shown and on a final as-is basis without any warranties expressed or implied. Even the very best maintained classics will require additional maintenance and service - often without warning. Therefore, please expect to continue - as the new owner and caretaker of this classic - to perform additional maintenance and repairs. We hope that you are able to enjoy the Pontiac Catalina Ventura Convertible without the need for an immediate repair - but understand that this indeed could be found necessary. As seasoned collectors know, every time you start (or attempt to start) a collectible vehicle is a new experience...it could be a wonderful ride, or a new repair to undertake. That is the nature of the hobby, and this classic should not be purchased if you are not prepared for this reality. We have presented the car accurately to the best of our ability, but oversights are possible. All sales are final. Because this car is only lightly driven locally - and is untested for long trips - we recommend that it be transported to its new locale. We remind you to be sure to review ALL the images and ALL the captions for this classic - in addition to this description because they relate important information too!

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL DETAILS: Because the current owner wanted 5-speed performance, the original GM M21(4-speed) was removed but will be provided to the new owner along with the factory-spec HURST shifter. The famed Ford 9 rear-end is installed because of its proven performance, reliability, and ease of service. Custom rear control arms improve handling. Also included in the sale are an extra (new) brake booster, and the air cleaner that appears in the restoration binder.

HISTORY OF THIS CAR: A long-time Pontiac enthusiast could not shake the memory of his youth when a friend had a red 1967 Catalina Convertible. After a long search, he found a blue one. Decades of use and mother natures forces took their toll, but that did not stop his enthusiasm for making the car cosmetically and operationally as close to new as possible.

A full-scale Frame-Off Concours quality restoration was commissioned with TWC (The Winning Collection) of Asheville, NC owing to their national reputation for high-end restorations. A donor car was purchased to efficiently provide needed original parts. Included with the car is a USB drive containing 3,083 images that document the painstaking restoration from its March 2010 beginning to the May 2013 completion. The results were so stunning, that the car was featured in a Hemmings publication 6-page article.

The oral history following the restoration is that the owner enjoyed pleasure cruises in the car for awhile, but that it was eventually acquired by a classic car specialist from an estate. The current owner has fond memories of working on/around these cars decades ago in his youth and he too has enjoyed the car immensely but is now moving on to a new retirement planning phase of his life and so yet another Pontiac enthusiast will have a rare chance to own a true nut and bolt frame-off/top-tier example of one of Pontiacs finest designs.

HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE & INVESTMENT POTENTIAL: Full-size Pontiacs of the 1960s are considered by many to be among the most beautiful cars ever made. In the middle of that decade 1965 Motor Trend gave the entire line their Car of the Year award. By 1967, Pontiac was firmly established as an industry style leader and introduced the first hidden windshield wipers in a sleek new look that no other make had. Because both Pontiac and affordable traditional full-size cars are no longer made, this gorgeous Catalina Ventura is poised very favorably for potential future appreciation.

OPERATIONAL REPORT: Most importantly as seen in the introductory video this Catalina is an exceptional road performer powerful, solid, and smooth. The modern VINTAGE AIR system cools impressively, the updated radio plays clearly, the power top opens/closes smoothly (though the up/down switch seems to be wired backwards) and even the clock works. Equipped with BF Goodrich Silvertown Redline P235/70R15 tires.

On our vehicle check however, we did note that the Right Turn Signal does not cancel automatically, the small (triangular) front vent windows are not operable, and the wipers though they will move are not properly synchronized.

We did not note any other non-functioning items, but encourage potential buyers to make their own evaluations as oversights are always possible and because cars of this vintage can surprise. Quite frankly to keep this Catalina as nice as it is - a mindset willing to undertake continual maintenance and as-needed repairs is just part of the collector car hobby.

PAYMENT TERMS: A $500 non-refundable deposit via PayPal or Zelle is required to hold the car for 3 business days, during which time the balance must be paid in full via bank to bank wire transfer... absolutely NO CHECKS! You are welcome to examine the car personally by appointment, but we are limiting appointments to those who intend to buy the car, and are coming only to confirm what we are showing in the images and videos.

ABOUT ME: After retiring from 30 years of sales and marketing in a Global 100 company, I formed Murphy Endeavors, LLC and began buying and selling classic cars as a collector and for friends and clients. This classic belongs to a fellow classic car enthusiast.
