From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.
The no-frills Savoy two-door sedan was home to another engine of considerable repute, the infamous 413 Max Wedge, a Super Stock monster block Chrysler introduced in the spring of 1962.

Classic Car Overview
1967 Mercury Cougar $2,500
This 1967 Mercury Cougar XR7 is a true desert car. Original
motor, a 289, Holley 4 Barrel Carb with the original automatic transmission.
Matching numbers. The car was running prior to being parked for the last 25
years. I have not tried to restart the automobile. Pictures tell
The Body has some surface rust, no real body damage. There is evidence of some bondo filler/work on the passenger side, right rear panel specifically. No major significant body damage. The two floor pans behind the passenger and driver side seats will need to be replaced (they are rusted).
All the window glass is in the automobile, front vent windows, rear side windows, rear window, front windshield have no cracks, with the exception of the passenger side window, broken, however, I have the replacement window for it.
I have removed the interior seats, carpeting, headliner, door panels and rear panels. I have saved all of the original parts. As far of the exterior of the automobile, I have only removed the rear bumper.
*The odometer reads 66,899. Quite sure that it has rolled over once.
I purchased this car in the last 90 days and was going to perform a complete restoration on the vehicle. I have decided that this project car would be better off in the hands of somebody seriously looking to restore a classic automobile.
