Classic Car Overview

This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SL is finished in gold over brown MB-Tex and is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a brown convertible top, a removable hardtop, power steering, Hella driving lamps, 14 steel wheels with painted covers, a Nardi steering wheel, a RetroSound Bluetooth radio, and a heater. The seller purchased the car in 2023 and has since added approximately 600 kilometers. This W113 SL is now offered with the owners manual, service records, a car cover, and a clean South Carolina title in the sellers name.
The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq and was introduced to the public at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show. Originally Tunis Beige Metallic, this example was repainted during previous ownership and features a brown soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, a retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, Hella driving lamps, and European-specification headlights.
The 14 steel wheels, hubcaps, and trim rings were recently refinished and mounted with 195/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin is upholstered in brown MB-Tex, and interior appointments include a RetroSound Bluetooth radio, a Nardi steering wheel, an analog clock, a floor-mounted gear shifter, and a heater. The footwells have been treated with undercoating, and the windshield sprayer only works intermittently. The seller notes that a Becker Mexico radio is included in the sale.
The three-spoke Nardi steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 220-km/h speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 77k kilometers (~48k miles), approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.5-liter M129 inline-six was factory equipped with Bosch fuel injection and was rated at 170 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque when new. The brake booster was rebuilt and clutch slave cylinder was replaced during current ownership. Close-up photos of the engine bay welds can be viewed in the gallery.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
