Backing the engine is Fords robust C6 Automatic Transmission, introduced specifically for high-horsepower big-block applications and considered one of the strongest automatic transmissions ever produced. Luxury features abound throughout the vehicle, including power windows, power door locks, power seat, and the beautiful faux woodgrain trim that enhances the upscale cabin environment. The famous rear-hinged rear doors remain one of the most unique features ever offered on an American production automobile. To enhance safety, Lincoln engineered a vacuum-operated central locking system and an innovative Door Ajar warning light technology that was years ahead of its time.
