Classic Car Overview

1967 Ford Mustang For Sale This 1967 Ford Mustang coupe presents in red over a black interior and has been updated over the years with a larger small-block V8 and a manual gearbox, putting it in the sweet spot for a first-generation Mustang that gets driven rather than trailered. The VIN identifies it as a C-code car, meaning it left Fords Metuchen, New Jersey assembly plant with a 289 two-barrel V8 and a two-door hardtop body. The 1967 model year brought the first significant restyle of the original Mustang, with a wider track, a larger engine bay, and the more sculpted body sides that many enthusiasts consider the high point of the early cars. Power now comes from a 302 V8, a same-family Windsor upgrade over the original 289, topped by an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a Holley four-barrel carburetor. That combination is a well-proven street setup, favoring the low- and mid-range response that suits a light coupe on the road. Cooling has been addressed with a new thermostat-controlled electric radiator fan, and the fuel system has been gone through with a new tank and new lines. Behind the engine is a three-speed manual transmission, the same configuration the C-code cars were originally built with, now fitted with a new clutch, a Hurst shifter, and new shift linkage and installation hardware, so gear changes come through a proper aftermarket setup rather than worn factory pieces. The chassis has been brought up to modern expectations in the areas that matter most. Front disc brakes replace the original drums and have been fitted with new calipers, and power steering takes the effort out of parking lot maneuvers and tight roads. The car rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, a period-appropriate choice for a car of this era, currently measuring 11/32 of tread depth. Taken together, this is a 1967 coupe set up for regular use, with the driveline, brakes, steering, and fuel system all addressed and a manual transmission and four-barrel carburetor for the kind of engagement buyers come to these cars looking for.
