Classic Car Overview

The Story & Provenance:
This is an incredibly unique opportunity to own an exceptionally honest, beautifully optioned 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback S code with an undeniable, documented Southern California history. This car has been under the care of a single family for nearly 60 years.
The car was originally built in September 1966. The original owner took delivery from the Los Angeles ordering zone but the vehicle was repossessed shortly thereafter. My grandmother purchased the car directly following that repossession in 1967. It was parked in our family garage shortly thereafter and has remained carefully garaged, preserved, and loved in Southern California ever since.

Chassis & Factory Specifications:
The vehicle's pedigree is fully verified by its original factory door data plate, matching inner fender chassis stamping, and original paperwork.
VIN: 7R02S108723
Factory S-Code Chassis: This car originally rolled off the assembly line as a highly desirable 390 Big Block V8 model.

San Jose Build (R Code): Built at Fords San Jose, CA plant, meaning this car has been a West Coast vehicle its entire life, completely avoiding the harsh elements and road salt of the Midwest or East Coast.

Luxury Interior (63B Code): This is a factory-ordered Deluxe/Luxury Interior model (Interior Decor Group), featuring the highly desirable brushed aluminum accents and molded deluxe door panels.

LA DSO (71 Code): Original Los Angeles District Sales Office ordering zone.

Drivetrain & Mileage:
The car is an S code but the original 390 motor was replaced by my grandmother in the 1970s with a built-up 302 cubic-inch Small-Block V8 mated to a smooth automatic transmission.
The factory five-digit odometer currently reads 05,593 miles, and total chassis mileage is assumed to be 105,593. However, because the built 302 engine was installed in the 1970s well after the car was originally purchased, the actual mileage on this powertrain is significantly lower than the chassis total.
The car runs great and this setup makes the car an absolute joy to drive offering plenty of reliable, crisp power while being lighter in the front end and easier to maintain than a heavy big-block. The engine bay is beautifully equipped for comfortable cruising, featuring an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, an upgraded 4-barrel carburetor, matching Edelbrock valve covers/air cleaner, and a modern aftermarket A/C compressor system.

This is a rock-solid, authentic California fastback with a bulletproof family story that cannot be fabricated. It is the perfect turnkey cruiser for an enthusiast who wants to own a genuine, beautifully spec'd factory '67 Fastback while enjoying the excellent performance and everyday drivability of a built 302 powertrain.
