Given that the 21st century has seen a sort of return to the roots aspect for the Mustang, it was probably only a matter of time before the Boss 302 made a return. Over the last few years there's been steady and growing interest in the concept of a new-age Trans Am Special.

1982 Mustang GT

Jim Clarke led the charge with the creation of the 5.0 HO V8 for the Mustang in 1982 and was responsible for the continuous improvement of the 5.0 throughout the '80s. What Jim and his team accomplished is truly amazing.

Classic Car Overview

Two adult owners/drivers and light seasonal usage describe this Mustang. You could be only the 3rd person to ever drive this Mustang!   87,879 on original V8 289 engine.  I bought this car in 1987 from the original owner, a retiree on Cape Cod.  Black Vinyl Roof, Pebble Beige exterior, automatic trans, White Wall Tires, Power Steering, AM Radio, Exterior Decor Group, Comes with 2 extra wheel covers.

I have the original dealer bill of sale, owners manual,  ford guide for good drivers, maintenance record, certification checklist and key code tag. Maintenance I have had done includes ball joints replacement, rear brakes, starter. radiator replacement and heater core and direct bolt on Holly 2BBL carburetor. I use a manual choke. The original carburetor (which I have) needs a accelerator pump fix kit. I have also had the transmission gone through and the vehicle drips nothing. It has never failed to start and operate smoothly at all speeds. I even have cutout access to the "hidden grease fittings." Since new the car has had only light summer usage by caring adults. This Mustang is fully presentable and operational as is or an easy project for someone to take it to the next level!

Repairs needed: Since the drivers seat was basically the only one used it needs to be re-covered. Gas gauge does not work. There is a ground disconnected on the gas tank which may be the problem. Finally it could use a shift bushing kit as the shift (though fully operational) is a little sloppy. As far as I know the vehicle is good to go otherwise!
