Classic Car Overview
If you are an American muscle car fanatic, there’s no doubt the iconic 66-67 Chevy Nova Super Sports in original condition are highly sought-after vehicles and have become must haves for the serious collector.
What you are looking at is an all numbers matching, thoroughly restored and GM Certified 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS 283/195hp vehicle (VIN Number 1183771106727). A true 11837 vehicle with 2-speed power glide transmission, finished in the rare Granada Gold (Code GG) with matching SS gold interior. The truth is that most of these Nova’s are recreations and have been altered from their original configuration so to find one near perfect is a real treat.
This stunning vehicle was originally purchased by a schoolteacher as her retirement gift for herself. Built as 1 of 431 in the Oshawa Ontario Canada GM plant and delivered to the local Canadian dealer, this vehicle was diligently maintained and service by a then young mechanic who worked on the vehicle for some 18 years until the retired schoolteacher could no longer drive. She sold the car to that now older mechanic who over the next 22 years did most of the restoration you see and only drove the car 500 miles in those 22 years. The all original and rust-free sheet metal and car were repainted in original Granada gold some 35 years ago and still has that deep and lustrous shine. The chrome and stainless-steel trim are show ready both. The car now with 84,000 original miles boasts original glass and seals with original T3 headlights. After the first 18 years or ownership, the car has never driven in rainy or wet conditions or washed with a running water hose.
The car sits on new 14” stock steel wheels with the original full-size hubcaps, wrapped with Cocker Redlines (P205/70R14’s) tires. Pictured with Rally trim rings and Chevrolet Motor Division center caps for a bit of bling. If the gorgeous exterior wasn’t enough, the vehicles undercarriage is equally impressive, undergoing a comprehensive restoration. From bumper to bumper if it was removable, it was including the drive line, rear end, leaf springs, all steering components and every other part. It’s like a new car that has never been driven! Additionally, the vehicle has a completely new braking system including SSBC front only factory disc brakes. In 1967 the Nova SS was available with a disc brake option, so the non-flashy SSBC system simply made sense. Again, all original brake components have been archived and come with the vehicle. The trunk is as clean as the interior of the car with no rust whatsoever and includes the spare wheel and tire, original jack assembly, and OEM trunk mat.
Inside you will find a beautifully restored interior with gold vinyl bucket seats & white center SS stripping. All the original gauges, blinkers, lights, vents, window cranks, heater and controls are in perfect working order. Even the original push-button radio, clock and cigarette light work as new! Factory correct seatbelts and center console with docking clips, not to mention the factory installed GM tissue box, make this interior truly special.
Under the hood you’ll find a beautifully detailed engine compartment with the original number matching 283/195hp motor (engine code K0603PN) with 2bbl Turbo Fire V8. The engine has been dressed up with a correct numbers matching aluminum painted manifold with chrome oil filler and cap, correct chrome rocker covers and chrome dual snorkel air clearing sitting atop arguably the best carburetor restoration in the US. Again, all original engine components have been completely restored as new and come with the vehicle. With a single press of the accelerator pedal the car fires right up, idles smoothly and runs perfectly.
Included with the sale of the vehicle is a complete written history of the vehicle with previous owners' names and pertinent details, 2 original build sheets found stuffed between the seat covers and foam, a seal-stamped certification document from the Canadian General Motors Vintage Services Department clearly verifying the validity of the vehicle. Also included are NAAA magazine publications (National Nostalgic Nova Association) featuring the vehicle in three separate publications, one as the cover and feature car. Also included is a large binder with a wide variety of documentation, original manuals, brochures, receipts, service manuals, part guides and all original parts that were held after restorations were completed.
This truly unique example of a 1967 Chevrolet Nova SS is an investment grade classic with an age worthy pedigree that will continue to appreciate in value. If you have been looking for “real deal” SS then do not miss this opportunity!
