Dare to Be Different - 1968 Chevy Impala SS 427

A viable alternative that's still daring and different, the 1968 Chevy Impala SS 427. SS 427 Impalas are very distinctive and unique. Sales were modest, so finding an Impala SS 427, especially a convertible, could be a little challenging.

Classic Car Overview

67 Chevy Malibu For Sale

All original 283 w/151k, never wrecked, perfect for restoration, reliable & lightly driven. Just had all the mechanicals gone over and verified the numbers match up. This is a 2-door, hard top, coupe, with the bucket/racing seats and shift on the floor. The car is strong on the open road and exciting to drive! It’s being sold As Is, but was a reliable second car for a stay-at-home mom. It’s been driven periodically, garage kept for most of the last 25 years. Other than regular maintenance, no problems. American muscle car history for the right buyer. Well cared for, low miles, nice body, limitless potential and you pick the paint. Insurance Value at $32k. Make Serious Offer.

LOCATION: Candler, NC

VIN: 136177A178502

STOCK #:TO628DE

ENGINE: 283

TRAINY:2 Speed Power Glide

BODY: 2S

BODY: The body is primer/paint.  The rear window area is in good shape, the rear quarter panels have some rust and holes from rust, normal stuff.  Never been wrecked to my knowledge, straight lines and frame.  The trunk area and hood need a lil work still.  Trunk lock is broken.  Trim pieces and emblems are in the trunk.  Pretty remarkable given the age.

INTERIOR: Two racing seats and the automatic shift is on the floor.  The front seats are in good shape, no major rips or tears, but and rear seats are torn at the very top.  You’d want to replace the headliner, maybe the dash cover.  No original radio.

MECHANICAL: The engine feels strong and sound, no smoke when you start it up.  The car is in good working condition and was driven lightly.  I’ve had the mechanic go over everything, so she’s had an oil change, air filter, tune up, brakes and so on.  Other than regular repairs, the car has the original engine, transmission, etc. No major modifications. Car has air shocks. It has the factory AC, but I haven’t had it running for years.

WHAT I KNOW: I’ve owned the car over twenty years.  I bought her from the son of a Louisiana Sheriff and the official Statey sticker is still on the car.  I just had the car gone over from bumper to bumper and verified the numbers match up.  We did belts, oil, transmission, brakes, rear end, plugs, wires etc...  He also worked on the headlights, wipers, carburetor, turn signals, dash lights, gauges and such.  Car is in original condition, to my knowledge.  It’s ready for restoration whenever you want to get started.  Paint prep is already started, figured the new owner would wanna pick the color!  I’d appreciate pictures when you’re finished.  Much loved and cared for.

INSPECTIONS:   I encourage inspections. I have disclosed all known defects and imperfections, but I’m not a professional and I'm not you. Purchasing a vehicle is very subjective. Perform inspections prior to putting down a deposit.

The car needs to be picked up from Candler, NC.
