Classic Car Overview
1967 Corvette Coupe
The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe was the final fixed-roof version of the second-generation Corvette, commonly known as the C2 or mid-year Corvette. Although many expected an all-new Corvette for 1967, Chevrolet delayed the next-generation C3 while engineers refined its aerodynamics. As a result, the 1967 model became the last, and to many enthusiasts, the most polished expression of the C2 Sting Ray design.
Performance played a defining role in the 1967 Corvettes reputation. Buyers could choose from small-block 327-cubic-inch V8 engines or several 427-cubic-inch big-block V8 options. This beautiful matching-numbers 327 V8 produces 300 hp and is paired with an automatic transmission, optional telescopic steering wheel, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes. These features enhance the appeal of this rare factory Butternut Yellow Coupe and reinforce the Corvettes true sports-car character.
Chevrolet built 22,940 Corvettes for 1967. Of those, 8,504 were Coupes and 14,436 were Convertibles, making the Coupe the less common body style. Because of its final-year C2 status, limited production, and desirable engine combinations, the 1967 Coupe has become one of the most respected and collectible classic Corvettes.
The 1967 Corvette Coupe represents the high point of the C2 generation: refined styling, robust performance, and a direct connection to Chevrolets racing ambitions. Its blend of beauty, power, and rarity has made it a benchmark among American sports cars. For collectors, the 1967 Coupe is often viewed as the ultimate Sting Ray because it captures the maturity of the original design just before the Corvette entered a new era with the 1968 C3.
