Classic Car Overview

All vehicle trades considered including classics and performance. We can assist with financing and shipping as needed.

This 1967 Corvette L68 coupe is a fantastic example of this rare and desirable model. For that year it is estimated that fewer than 1,000 coupes were built with the 427ci 400hp tri-power engine (rarer than the L71). To add to the desirability, this gorgeous example underwent a frame-off restoration and subsequently received a pair of NCRS Top Flight awards and Bloomington Gold certification. With its numbers-matching engine and original tank sticker, this is one of the nicer examples you will find.

This C2 was built in early May 1967 and sold new at Leson Chevrolet in New Orleans. After decades of service it was fully restored from 2000-2006. This was a comprehensive nut-and-bolt effort that resulted in the previously mentioned awards. The frame was blasted clean and then painted and detailed which helps contribute to the great looking undercarriage; be sure to see all the pictures in the gallery. The body was refinished in its original Marlboro Maroon with updates in 2025. It has excellent lines and gaps including the hood, headlight doors, passenger doors, and all body contours. The Rally wheels wear Firestone 7.75-15 redline tires.

The rebuilt engine is original to the car. This is the L68 427ci 400hp option with three 2-barrel carburetors. The block shows a casting number of 3904351 and casting date of 4-18-67, while the stamping pad shows an assembly date of 4-25-67 along with the correct JC suffix code and matching VIN derivative. The M21 close-ratio 4-speed transmission was replaced at some point and shows a date of 9-15-67, while the FA-code 3.70 Positraction rear end also appears original to the car with a date of 3-27-67. A transistorized ignition is also present. Beyond the drivetrain, this C2 has seen a great deal of mechanical work throughout as expected from this level of restoration.

The Saddle vinyl interior is a perfect contrast with the exterior. Of course, everything here was also restored and is in excellent condition including the seats, carpet, door panels, and dash pads. The headlight motors work smoothly and all exterior lighting is operational. The speedo, tach, gauges, dash lights, courtesy lights, horn, wipers, AM/FM radio, heater/defroster, and parking brake are all functional as well. The optional power windows work great as does the clock which retains its original style movement.

This car received Bloomington Gold certification in June 2006. This was followed by an NCRS Top Flight award in August 2006 and another in June 2007. The original tank sticker is present and calls out the L68 engine, M21 transmission, and 3.70 Positraction rear end. It also shows the transistor ignition and power window options.

The mid-year models continue to be the most desirable of all Corvette generations, and for good reason. They are a stunning design that represents a coming-of-age for Americas sports car and introduced features like big block power, 4-wheel disc brakes, a fully independent suspension, and more. This very clean example brings it all home with its great drivetrain, excellent condition, tank sticker, and more.
