The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

The ZR-1's production run from 1990-95 was one of the most exciting times for Corvette enthusiasts in recent memory. In the mid-1980s, rumors of a "King of the Hill" Corvette began to leak out of Detroit and into America's speed shops and dealerships.

Classic Car Overview

1967 Corvette L-79 Roadster with 29400 original miles in EXCELLENT overall condition.  Rally Red exterior (factory color is Marina Blue), black leather interior, and with an original “1967 big block” hood installed.  The entire “matching numbers” drive train consists of a 327/350hp engine, 4-spd M21 transmission, and posi-traction 3.70 rear end.  Car has both a white soft top & its original black vinyl hard top.  The seats, dash, carpet, visors, interior and exterior mirrors, visors, steering wheel, radio, console, gear shift, glove box, instruments, console, seat belts, chrome, soft top, hard top, jack, and glass are all in excellent condition.  Car comes with its original set of 5 GM/KH steel wheels, beauty rings, and hub caps, with Coker Redline bias-ply tires mounted on them (all in excellent condition).  Vehicle comes with numerous ORIGINAL documents, which include the owner’s manual & bag, Protect-o-Plate, tank sticker, both ignition & door keys (w/knockouts), key bag, 67 Chevrolet accessories brochure, carpet tags, NCRS shipping data report, plus many other original & misc. supporting documents & manuals (see pics).  Nearly every component with an original part number and/or date code is present (see detailed part # and date code list below).  The car has been driven only 300 miles since body was pulled off frame in 2017 to do a complete mechanical and chassis restoration.  The engine, transmission, rear end, master cylinder, steering box, water pump, alternator, starter, upper & lower A-Arms, brake calipers, trailing arm assemblies, voltage regulator, distributor, AM/FM radio, and clock were fully restored by professionals.  All instruments gauges (except speedometer/ odometer) are new.  Car’s entire electrical wiring system was replaced with new harnesses manufactured by Lectric Limited.  During frame off, all chassis components were removed from frame, and were cleaned and restored, and if necessary, replaced with NOS or the correct new OEM replacement.  Frame is MINT, with zero rust!  Much care and expense went in to ensure every part, bolt, nut, washer, bushing was restored and reinstalled per NCRS & 1967 Corvette assembly manual guidelines.  The car was not repainted at time of frame off.  The paint is an older laquer paint job, painted before current owner purchased car over 15 years ago, however the car's paint is still in overall very good condition and shows very well.  The big block hood was also added before current owner purchased car.  In last 15 years the car has never been driven in wet conditions, and when not driven, has always been stored in a climate controlled garage with the car covered.

EXTRA PARTS & ACCESSORIES provided with car include its original pristine small block hood (also painted in Rally Red lacquer), a full set of reproduction Rallye wheels w/beauty rings & hubcaps mounted on whitewall radial tires, the original date-coded water pump (restored), the original “202” coil, the original oil canister (restored), a premium car cover, plus much more (see list below).

Car was originally assembled on 4 May 1967 and sold to its first owner on 18 May 1967 at Ayers Chevrolet & Olds in Dover, NJ.  I am the fourth owner and have owned the car for over 15 years, with the car residing primarily in a climate-controlled garage for many of those years.  For the past 30 years the car has been mostly stored until frame off occurred in 2017.

Recommend interested individuals take a hard look at all the pictures and information provided. All pictures and the video were taken within the last 6 weeks.  I am confident it would be very difficult to locate another 1967 Corvette currently for sale that has a more pristine chassis, has lower original miles, is in an overall excellent condition, has had a “recent” completely restored drive line (including nearly all mechanical components), maintains a serious amount of originality, comes with extra parts & accessories, carries such an original documentation provenance, and is priced near this one.
