The Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the most iconic muscle cars around.
Chevrolet introduced the Chevelle in 1963 as a 1964 model. Though quite large by today's standards, it was classified as a midsize car. What wasn't midsize was the level of passion garnered from the very beginning, a passion that has continued for decades.
Classic Car Overview
This Chevrolet Chevelle is a 138 VIN SS. This car at one point was a drag car down in TN and 1980's was purchased in OH and underwent a frame off restoration and brought back to the streets. I purchased the car in 2017 and at that time the 396 engine had been swapped to a big block 454 (bored .030 over) with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a B&M shifter. Rear end is a 12 bolt posi-traction with 4:11 gears and ladder bars. The ignition system was upgraded too.
Since 2017 the steering has been upgraded to a power rack and pinion setup, front brakes have been upgraded to power disc and the carb has been changed to a Holly 650 double pumper making this car a very enjoyable driver. The interior appears original but in really good condition, the carpet may have been replaced at some point.
Tires on rear are P275/60R15 DOT Drag Radials and this car hooks up really well. Note: it shows 29,400 miles, but actual mileage is unknown.
