1967 Chevrolet Camaro

The year 1967 was the first for the Chevy Camaro. With its long hood, short deck styling and available RS package that featured hide-away headlights. A menu of potent V8s, including a 396 big block that became available later in the model year, made sure that the go matched the show.



Here we have a 67 Camaro convertible, and its nothing less than a genuine SS with the RS package. Originally equipped with a 350 V8, this SS/RS was fitted with a 396 V8 when it underwent a meticulous, nut-and-bolt restoration. It has traveled less than 800 miles since.



The rock-solid body now wears a color change from Granada Gold to Lemans Blue due to restorers preference. That ultra-high-quality paint is accented by brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim and a white bumble bee nose stripe. The quality of the restoration is further seen in the even panel gaps and precise application of that nose stripe. Note that this gorgeous example earns our Lasagna car award as the underside is so clean we would eat our Sunday pasta off of it.



The interior is similarly impressive as it has also been correctly restored. Equipped with the optional fancier Custom trim, the doors feature integral armrests while the seats feature a white accent. The factory optional console features auxiliary gauges. Everything looks and feels as if the car just rolled out of the factory.



Under the SS hood with its simulated engine vents there is an era-correct and fully-rebuilt 396 transplant that sports the correct air cleaner and chrome valve covers that along with the engine compartments ultra-clean condition will have you proud to open the hood when you stop in at a Cars and Coffee event. All that power runs through the Muncie M20 4-speed transmission and on to the 12-bolt, 3.31 Positraction rear end. Power steering and power front disc brakes mean piloting this boulevard bruiser is easy peasy.
