1967 Austin-Healey 3000MKIII

-Currently being completed by Kurt Tanner Motorcars and ready soon is this really excellent 3000 MK III in its factory original Austin Healey color of Metallic Golden Beige with Red leather trim. Only 553 cars were produced in this special color. This car was purchased by us recently here in California from only its second owner where it had been off the road since the mid 1980s, and has been the subject of a total cosmetic and partial mechanical restoration.

-Details of the restoration include a complete stripdown of all chromework, glass, top, interior, trunk, to the bare rolling bodyshell. The car was then aggressively steam cleaned/power washed in, out, and under. The chassis interior was lightly sandblasted.
-The cars body panels were carefully gapped, sanded down, and then quality bodywork applied, epoxy primed, blocked, flatted-off, then repeated. Show quality paintwork was then applied in basecoat/clearcoat Valspar paint system in Metallic Golden Beige paint. The catalyzed paintwork was then oven-baked, color sanded, buffed, polished, then waxed with great results.
-The cars existing chromework was quality replated or purchased new. A new body rubber and body gasket kit was installed along with new lights and lenses, two new door glass and new windshield glass with seal kit. Rebuilt door handles and components, window regulators.
-The cars interior trim was completely renewed in upgraded materials. Front and rear seats, armrest trimmed in quality leather hide, new vinyl matching panel kit, retrimmed console, armbars, dash top pad, quality Moss cut pile carpet with underlay kit, repainted gray top frame with recovered top wood, new webbing kit, new seat foam kits, door seals, top seals, end caps, shift boot, shift knob, two point lap seat belts, restored door aluminum, new OEM quality Everflex Black soft top with matching boot in stowage bag. Newly installed, highly figured, gloss walnut dashboard facia. New Armacord trunk kit in black per original, with battery, tray and cover.
-Beautifully detailed engine compartment throughout, along with new bulkhead grommets. All removed original hardware was cadmium plated. 4 New stainless wire wheels were fitted with quality radial tires installed and balanced secured by new knock-offs.
-A new high-quality stainless exhaust system was fitted throughout, along with new hangers and hanging kits.
-The braking system was completely renewed including new master cylinder, brake booster, flexy lines, front calipers and pads, front discs, rear cylinders, brake shoes.
-The fuel system was completely renewed including rebuilt carburetor set, new fuel tank and SU pump, flexible lines. New engine mounts, ignition tune up kit, fan belt and hoses.
-Correct clamps, decals, factory finishes were employed where appropriate. The cars undercarriage was completely and correctly detailed/painted.
-The mechanical aspect of this car was inspected and repaired as needed, and the car will run and drive beautifully.
-Overall, this fantastic restored BJ8 is now in its final restoration stage of completion.
-The late 3000 MKIII Grand Tourer Convertible is the fastest and most luxurious model of all the Healeys, and is the one to own and give your garage space to.
