Classic Car Overview

1967 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK3 BJ-8 SPORTS CONVERTIBLE. HEALEY BLUE WITH NAVY BLUE TRIM, TOP, TOP BOOT. 4-SPEED OVERDRIVE, 60-SPOKE WIRE WHEELS. SUPER WELL PRESERVED TWO OWNER CAR SHOWING 85,641 ORIGINAL MILES. EXCITING DRIVER.

-The final variant of the Big Healey arrived in 1964 as the 3000 MK3. It's considered the most desirable and user friendly of all the cars thanks to it's powerful and smooth 150 bhp engine, power/servo'd brakes, centershift gearbox, quieter exhaust system. Interior refinements included a lovely walnut veneered dashboard, center console with armrest, armbars, fold down rear luggage shelf, roll up side windows coupled to an easy using weather tight convertible top.
-This car offered for sale here is a brilliant driver (PLEASE SEE DRIVING VIDEO) , having benefitted from being only a two owner car, the last owner being it's care taker for the past 40 years with very good maintenance.
-Paintwork presents great from 10 feet, but is older and now showing some age in the form of lifting, some cracking, chips, touch-ups but nevertheless still looks attractive and honest. It appears to be it's only single respray. Chromework is really excellent, being original items throughout, with maybe only the rear bumper bar being replated. The original Triplex windshield glass is excellent with a great original lower rubber.
-The car's interior is completely original (save for a newer carpet kit) and is in wonderful condition all around. It retains it's original materials as the dash top pad, armbars, 6-piece interior panel kit, switch plate, center console with original Blaupunct radio, armrest, front and rear Ambla vinyl seat kits, original Dunlopillow seat foams. Dashboard wood is excellent. PLEASE SEE WALK AROUND VIDEO.
-The car's engine compartment just received a light detail by ourselves and looks fantastic. Mechanically I would rate this car in the top 5% of cars I have driven. The two previous owners did a great job preserving the car's original driving character as this specimen exudes what is a true BJ8. This car runs, drives, accelerates briskly, shifts, stops, and steers extremely well and can be driven quickly and safely out on the road. The car's underside shows older thin undercoating as per original for East Coast delivered cars, but is super solid throughout.
-Overall, this attractive and well preserved final year BJ8 presents very well as a good driver, and should be thoroughly enjoyed going forward. It is presented in the most desirable color scheme with only two owners with low original miles, and would be a hard car to replace.
