VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

1967 BJ8 Mark III Phase II. Last year they were made and the largest engine ever produced. 150 HP top speed 120 mph. Previous owner was English and owned the car 30 years. Only driven in the rain twice.

New glass windows, and wind screens, new larger tires, Vredestein 180X70X15R, wheel bearings, springs band springs and king pins, stripped and painted all panels to subframe, all rubber seals, weather sripping and trim, interior panels, seats (except rear seats) carpeting, burled wood dash, and radio, boot has been redone, steering wheel, tonneau cover with reinforcing bar, new Stayfast convertible top, boot cover and storage bags for all, Smith gauges refurbished, Exceptional paint job done in original Colorado Red, no nicks or dents, engine bay is clean and show quality, boot contains spare tire/chrome wheel, car jack, spin off tools, original oil canister, EOM rear end, extra keys, Healey repair books, owners manual. Lastly, I'll wager there's not a Healey out there that rides and steers better that this one. I took the car to Hendrix Wire and Wheel in Greensboro, NC to get new tires , to balance,  true wheels and drums on the rear.  He used a lathe to do the job. The results were incredible. If you have a chance to drive it you'll see!  I have copies of all the work that has been done on the car since I bought  it in 2014. The only thing I know of that one might want to address is that 2nd gear comes out of place sometimes while coasting down a slight grade. I'm told it is a simple repair. There is a nylon ball and spring that holds it in 2nd gear and the spring has lost it's tension. I had just finished insulating the transmission/drive train tunnel and did not want to disturb my work. Everything is as near perfect as a 50 year old English car can be.
