Classic Car Overview
A car I purchased for myself but now must sell (ran out of space)
Always loved classic Volvos, owned a number of PV544s and a fave was a 122 Wagon. But always wanted a 122S Coupe. Hence, was thrilled when I found a good one in Florida......and with working air conditioning!
Its history was: many years in Puerto Rico, hence, never had a heater. Fine, for now in Connecticut but Winter is only two seasons away. Hence located a proper factory heater through a friend, tested, ready for installation.
Body seems quite good, very nice bright red paint, bumpers are okay but two of the three front pieces could use a rechroming (they aren`t that expensive brand new). Tires appear near new, I just had a new windshield and seal installed, up on a lift, floors looked great as did the trunk floor (some parts of the floor look new, not patched/pop riveted but properly welded). And the interior is wonderful....appears new in beautiful Palomino, new headliner (with one very small rip), new dash top and knee pad, new stereo/CD with USB input on the dash, new carpets and interior panels.
As for the rest.....150 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke hot or cold, and the oil pressure light goes off and stays off when running. Transmission and clutch feel fine. And we disassembled the front end and installed new lower A arm bushings. Now nice and tight.
Exhaust is quiet, has a new battery, nice and clean engine bay, I think it is a lovely car.
I talked to my `old Volvo guru` who told me the servo assist dual master cylinder was from a later car...but who cares? Having the safety of dual master cylinder and the ease of operation of power assist disc brakes is a nice luxury.
This car can be a fun classic in all seasons, powerful heater, working a/c, seats four comfortably, generous sized trunk, classic lines, and fun to drive. A nice combination. And ready for sale.
