Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Classic Car Overview

This ‘66 replica was built by the owner of Lonestar Cobra in 2011 and is so special that it made the cover of Kit Car Builder Magazine.  It was the premier demo car for his company; built to impress on both the street and a track.  Powered by a high hp 351 Cleveland, it has the perfect balance of the nimble handling that comes from a small block, without sacrificing raw power and torque that you’d get from a 427.  Some extras include: Holley/Brawler 4brl carb, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, QA1 adjustable suspension, Powermaster high current alternator, 13” Wilwood drilled and slotted brakes, Tilton dual master cylinder, black ceramic coated headers, Afco performance radiator, MSD ignition system, and upgraded interior.  A unique advantage of a Lonestar Cobra (now Ultimate Classic Cars) is the more narrow transmission bay and lower seat position.  That basically means that although it has the same dims as other cobras out there, this one has more room and is far more comfortable to drive...especially if you’re a bit bigger.  Also, this car was not based off of donor car, so it isn’t just a mustang chassis and rear with a new body kit.  In case you are wondering, the paint color is Kawasaki Green, and the black racing stripes and side gumball are a vinyl (not paint).  If you are for a truly special car that is insanely fun to drive, this “green machine” is it.
