Vehicle Overview
This European-built 1966 Porsche 912 features timeless styling and has been configured for daily use, currently powered by a 1750cc engine. The sale includes the original matching-number engine, ready for refurbishment. With its straight body, well-preserved interior, and collection of spare parts, it presents an excellent opportunity for either a full restoration or careful preservation.
Mechanical
Currently equipped with a 1750cc engine suitable for daily driving. The original engine is included but will require a rebuild. Brakes and suspension are operational; however, due to their age, an inspection is recommended.
Exterior
Body panels are straight with good alignment. Paint damage is present in several areas. Rust noted on the windshield-wiper apron. Underside condition consistent with an unrestored 1960's Porsche. Larger rear mags included for restoration purposes.
Interior
Seats, panels, and carpets are in fair to good condition. Three-instrument dash is present, speedometer in need in repair, but all gauges and switches are intact.

Thanks for all of your replies. I'm willing to put in an offer but only if I get a Pre-purchase inspection done beforehand which unfortunately can't get done before the auction ends in 10 hours. I've already talked to a local shop there in SLO that can get it done this week. I'm concerned about the damage the rust under the front windshield has caused but mainly the 2nd to last picture you uploaded of the underside. It looks dried out and cracking. Underneath that peeling layer could be heavy, flaking, scaly rust oxidation. I need the PPI to confirm a solid front suspension pan, clean longitudes and no hidden major rust under cowl. I would love to get a PPI done this week. If you're interested, I left my email in a comment on your YouTube channel within the video of you driving the car down the road. Thanks
Apologies!!! I just saw the Dec 2026 tags. My fault.
Thank you for the videos. I completely understand and respect your time, getting a classic up on jacks is a project in itself! Yes, I am absolutely a legitimate, highly motivated buyer. The car looks like it starts great, shifts well and runs straight. My main concerns right now are just whether the car can even be driven in the rain due to the front windshield cowl rust and whether the car is structurally very sound underneath with no rust. Honestly, I don't want to have to fork out major cash for metalwork in the near future. Is the car currently registered in CA and passing smog and all that stuff?
