Vehicle Overview
OVERVIEW
1966 Le Mans color was changed to turquoise. Its interior was changed to gray and custom cloth inserts were added to the seats. The original engine was recently overhauled. The manual transmission, suspension, and drum brakes were also rebuilt.
This 1966 Pontiac Le Mans Convertible features a rebuilt engine and an overhauled drivetrain. Its exterior and interior colors were changed. This car is an exceptional example of classic automotive craftsmanship. It has undergone an extensive rebuilt, with nearly $25,000 recently spent on upgrading the powertrain, and over $40,000 invested in total. The engine runs smoother and more efficiently than when the car first rolled off the assembly line. Its throaty sound turns heads wherever it goes.
FEATURES
37 in the second and third positions of the VIN denote the Le Mans series.
326-cu.in. OHV V8 is original to the car.
V8 was rebuilt and has less than 5,000 miles on it since then.
A Holley air cleaner, a Holley two-barrel carburetor, and electronic ignition were installed.
New dual exhaust system and an aluminum radiator.
Three-speed manual transmission.
The transmission sports a Hurst shifter. It has been overhauled for precise shifting.
Code-Y on the body data plate reveals that the car was factory-painted Candlelight Cream. It has since been repainted in turquoise.
The paint, chrome, and body work are in average condition.
A gray vinyl interior with custom cloth inserts on the seats has replaced the code-221 Fawn interior.
The updated interior "combines vintage charm with modern comfort.
An AM radio remains in the dashboard, but a Kenwood stereo was mounted in the glovebox. The original radio now acts as a kill switch to disable the ignition.
Its incredible stereo system has hands-free speakerphone capability for convenience.
Speakers were mounted in the front kick panels and rear convertible upper side panels.
Aftermarket gauges, pedal, steering wheel, and dash pad covers; and cupholders were added.
This Pontiac is equipped with manual steering.
The suspension has been rebuilt.
An aftermarket front anti-roll bar can be seen, and air shocks are in the rear.
The manual four-wheel drum brakes have been rebuilt.
The entire braking linkage has been replaced.
New radial tires roll on stock 14-inch steel wheels with full covers.
