1966 LeMans Hardtop - GTO Tribute: Choose Your Own Adventure Classic Project Car

Pristine rebuilt project car ready for the last bit of love to get it back roaring down the road scaring Priuses in its wake. This full-powered and beautiful antique car was meant to be platform for a GTO clone, but the hands of time and kids moving away derailed our project. This car has been garaged for last 17 years and likely longer during last owners restoration. Why spend more for a pure-bred GTO, when what you really want is a fun car thatll go vroom, vroom? Soon enough you can get your XXX on like Vin Diesel as his GTO goes flying around some weirdo European landscape doing action star stuff. Or bring it back as a pure LeMans. Come snap up this rust-free car and give this fine ride its best car life. You do you. You win either way...

Rolling stock, with many GTO features and parts. Clear Ohio Title. 36,000 on odometer.

(Vin 23717 6P xxxxxx) 37 = LeMans, 17 = hard top, 6 = 1966

Immaculate body, all primed + sanded = ready to be painted in your favorite shade of go-fast-fast. Body work done by previous owner, a retired professional auto-body worker, completed with all chrome detailing removed. New body panels installed on the L/R rear. No rust anywhere on this ride, including common trouble areas around window glass.

The car has GTO hood scoop flair installed along with the proper hood scoop trim fitting. In addition, we have a near full set of the matching GTO parts for the year, ready for assembly

  • GTO slotted tail lights //
  • Front grill with GTO logo and parking lights (square grill pattern) //
  • GM original-in-box GTO emblems for rear quarter panels //
  • Trunk lid with GTO logo //

(see pictures attached to the ad for more detail about the GTO parts)

Center console for automatic, presently set up with aftermarket shifter. Has front bucket seats and rear bench. Seat covers appear original in black. Seat belts, 4 armrest frames with foam cushion and two have have ashtrays, window cranks and dome light. Trunk lid with jacking instruction graphic. Door panels and handles (L & R inside and outside).

Engine code YJ 348985: This Pontiac engine code is a 421 CI, 356 HP, 3 x 2 Barrel Carb (Tri-Power), automatic and was originally offered in the 1965 & 66 Bonneville/Grand Prix, Catalina/Star Chief, and 2+2. This car is presently set up with a 4 br carb. This Pontiac engine in tri-power form is only 4 hp less than the 360 horses blasting forth from the original GTO native engine. Engine compartment is VERY clean from restoration while engine was being rebuilt. Has air condition plumbing/vents but no components (compressor, etc). Has new stock hood insulation panel in stock bag.
