The Original Muscle Car

It's hard to imagine that the Pontiac GTO might never have made it into production. Had it not been for a small group of managers at Pontiac who were also car enthusiasts and visionaries, the GTO might not have been.

Classic Car Overview

As a result of getting scammed on paint work to repair deep scratches on left rear quarter, I’m dropping price from $37,000 to $27,000. Areas that have to be reworked are in new pictures. The rest of the car is very nice.

1966 GTO, black on black, 4 speed (M21). Motor is a 400 ci, installed by GM in 1967 (told that by previous owner). Retains its 1966 Tri-Power setup. Posi 10 bolt rear with 411 gears. Power steering. Drum brakes (which work incredibly well). Flowmaster 1050 3” duel exhaust. 15x7 Rally 1 wheels with BF Goodrich redline tires. Heat works, radio works, and even tape deck works. Interior is nice. All gauges work!!

Exterior. Glass is all nice, with no major scratches. Trim is nice, but not show condition or spotless (has scratches and tiny dings). Bumpers look brand new, as do headlights, and other trim. Body is very straight. Left rear quarter need to be repainted, but it is straight. Call for details.

Drivability: It drives great!! And I am not just saying that in order to help selling it. I have taken it on the highway a few times, and at 60 mph the tach is at 3k. Fires right up every time, and temp gauge goes no higher than 190. And yes, it’s fast, sounds awesome, and gets incredible amounts of thumbs up and pictures taken whenever I drive it.

Reason for selling: Not a fan of a 4 speed or the gears, and I don’t have the money nor patience to get quarter panel repainted.

A few last things. My loss is your gain.  No lowball offers please.  At 27,000 I’m already taking a huge loss.  It’s a real 242 GTO. With PHS documentation and clear title in hand.
