This 1966 Mustang Fastback was upgraded to a GT350SR by Unique Performance in Farmers Branch, TX in 2005. It was built for a friend of Carroll Shelby and he took a personal interest in the build. The body is straight and rust free finished in white with painted on blue racing stripes. The engine is a 351 punched out to a 408, the transmission is a Tremec TKO 5-speed and the differential a Currie 9 limited slip with 3.89:1 ratio, it is fitted with a 22 gallon fuel cell as well. It has power 4 wheel Baer disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. Power assist rack and pinion steering and Unique Performance coil over front and rear suspension with sub-frame connectors. Leather Shelby signature bucket seats, a wood rimmed steering wheel, and Old Air Products air conditioning round it out. This car is sorted out running and driving excellent and needs nothing but to be happily driven and enjoyed!

Unique Performance reportedly modified a number of vintage Mustangs to GT350SR specifications in the mid-2000s. This car was originally painted Silver Frost (4), and it was refinished around 2005 in white with blue racing and rocker panel stripes. Features include a Shelby R-style nose, hood and side scoops as well as an SC Cobra-style fuel filler door, body-color bumpers, flared wheel arches, dual bullet-style side mirrors, GT350SR badging, and Terlingua Racing Team fender badges.

The Shelby R-style 15? wheels wheels are mounted with 225/60 front and 245/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering and Baer bump steer adjustable tie rods. Braking is handled by power-assisted Baer front and two-piston rear calipers clamping drilled and slotted rotors. Suspension components include Unique Performance rear coilovers and subframe connectors as well as a front shock tower brace.

The cabin features front bucket seats with headrests and Carroll Shelby signatures embroidered in the backrests. A fire extinguisher is mounted between the seats, and the G Force five-point harnesses are anchored to the padded roll bar. Additional equipment includes Shelby-branded pedals, Old Air Products air conditioning, and an Alpine head unit linked with aftermarket speakers mounted behind the seats.

The glovebox door bears the signature of Carroll Shelby.

The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges. The digital odometer indicates 2,300 miles. True mileage is unknown.

The replacement 351ci V8 was reportedly bored out to 408ci and was installed in 2005. It is topped with a Holley 780 CFM carburetor, and exhaust gases exit via ceramic-coated headers that feed 2.5? piping and Spin Tech aluminum mufflers. Other details include a 22-gallon fuel cell, a rear-mounted battery, MSD ignition, and a Griffin aluminum radiator with an electric fan. An oil change was performed in June 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and a Currie 9? rear end with a 3.89:1 limited-slip differential.

Unique Performance applied a serial-number plate showing the number CSC66330F41SR015 over the area on the cars fender apron where the Ford-issued chassis number would normally be. The Ford-branded door tag shown above bears the sequence 6T09C144009, which is listed as the VIN on the cars title.
